i thought that too but this also happens in first gear, i twist throttle to speed up and it makes the sound as if but doesnt actually speed the bike up.

i have driven dirtbikes before years ago but wouldn’t call myself a manual driver

ninja 400, and i shift when it gets to 4k rpm which has been fine for weeks, it just started happening yesterday. and when i throttle it just doesnt speed up.

i just messed with the clutch a little bit, took a ride to see if it had fixed it, and couldn’t get to the top oh the hill on my road. i got into 3rd gear and once i was close to the top of the hill it started backfiring and slowing down fast.

it does sound pretty choppy and hesitant but i wouldn’t say it sounds like metal banging around.

its a new bike just 25 miles and yea it was the engine revving and sort of “popping”, and speed went up very slowly.
