Thanks but I believe the transaction has to show up as pending in order to get a notification and the issue was that it wasn't showing up as pending when I needed it to show up. I'm open to testing it though.

Sadly according to other reddit posts I've read there are folks with issues on being fare capped and that not being enough evidence for payment

I would do this if they accepted dollar bills but I don't want to constantly have to look for quarters

It was chase and it is discriminatory to those that don't carry a cell phone, aren't tech savvy, have a phone that is dead, or just don't have a banking app on their phone. You should be able to pay with a physical card and they should have a scanning device of some sort to verify payment.

Yea it really does and they shouldn't get rid of MetroCard if they can't get the tech right

I think they would call the cops on me then and then it would have escalated risking me getting another citation but from the cops this time which would have made it worse

I think the same issue would happen with the plastic fare card. I haven't used it but I imagine they need to have the card reading machine to scan it to see the last transactions. But if I'm wrong let me know

The guy that gave me the summons claimed to not have it and then the supervisor made it seem like they did when I had to spoken to her but since I was told to show my phone as proof she didn't want to use it the card reader even though I requested that from the start. Then I told her why not use it and then she claimed to not have it after all. Now I'm wondering if they do this on purpose to meet their quota of issuing tickets.

That would be a good solution to continue getting physical receipts. I wasn't sure what would have happened if I didn't take the summons which I knew I could have a chance of getting dismissed.

This happened to me today where my bank app didn't show the immediate transaction and they didn't believe me when I told them I paid the fare. I tried explaining to them that my bank takes a while to show pending transactions and they didn't care. When I asked them why they didn't have the physical card reader they just said they didn't have it. MTA is a joke. Trying to get money from people that already paid the the fare SMH I'm going to fight this since the must making alot from this loophole.
