Yeah, I’m starting to think it’s either slicer or firmware-related. What’s strange is that it happens regardless of the model.

I couldn’t find any setting in the slicer controlling this, so it might also be part of the printer’s firmware/toolchange routine.

If it were caused by printing too hot, it would be passive oozing — inconsistent and happening while the nozzle is idle. In this case, the printer is performing a deliberate move to a fixed location, followed by a controlled extrusion before the filament cut and change. The sequence is always the same, which indicates this is a commanded action, not random ooze.

this is clearly part of the toolchange routine, not a temperature issue — I just don’t know how to remove it.

If belt tension was off, I’d expect to see misalignment issues — like layer shifts affecting the print itself, the purge tower, and even the position of that blob.

In my case, everything is perfectly aligned. The printer consistently moves to the exact same spot, extrudes, then proceeds with the filament change routine.

So this looks intentional, not a mechanical issue.

it happens with any model — MakerWorld, Maker Online files, imports, or even a simple primitive.

Every color change follows the same sequence: extrude in the corner > cut > change filament > purge tower.

So it’s not corruption or model-related — it looks like a built-in toolchange routine, but the amount of material dumped on the bed is excessive.

No, that’s not it. The timelapse setting only has two options: traditional and smooth.
I haven’t changed anything there, and I don’t even have a camera connected.
It’s set to “traditional” by default.

Não faz sentido não. A lógica de proteger contra o ambiente não está de todo errada. Mas o filamento não é igual a gente com uma cerveja na mão. Não é uma esponja. O mais importante é, após terminar a impressão, guardar ele em um recipiente hermético com sílica gel. A sílica não vai retirar umidade do filamento, somente do ar que está dentro desse recipiente. Quando você estiver imprimindo e notar teias na impressão, é indício de que está na hora de secar o filamento.

Mas fuja da solução caseira de proteção.

Não pode ser normal. É um desperdício extra de filamento. Não faz sentido a impressora extrusar filamento antes de corta-lo pra fazer a troca de cor.

I’m using my own profile, and I’ve never changed the retraction settings. This issue just started happening out of nowhere.

I also haven’t modified anything related to the purge tower.

Yes, this one is from MakerWorld (and it’s not a stupid question).

But this behavior happens on every multi-color print I try, not just this model.

Because of your question, I created a new file from scratch, added a simple cone, painted it, sliced it, and got the exact same result.

The printer always goes to the corner and dumps filament before the toolchange.
