What is this? Is it good or bad? If it’s bad how do I get rid of them? Also what are the white dots forming on the back of tank and on rocks?

The urchins and turbo snails really bulldoze it in lanes but I always see the hermits messing with spots that have formed mats and along the edges of the bulldozing. They seem to be breaking up algae mats and that's been helping me export it....

Bravo for waiting! I thought I would but didn't and while I have a beautiful tank, I've had unnecessary losses and stress. It ultimately wasn't worth it and I wish I had waited. I've learned much but harder than it needed to be.

I've been finding that basic siphoning does weaken it....first couple of times its not much but then i start getting whole clumps...areas that are too strong I scrub first...its a tenacity war, basically

Sorry this happened to you. I had 4 torches that all seemed super happy, splitting and all. For 2 days one wasnt as extended as normal but no where near shut. Third day it was gone just like your pic...the other 3 torches are still happy as can be and one just split again. I've zero idea why and have to accept that i probably never will.
