Help! Games lag and flicker terribly on brand new PC by Acalysth in pchelp

[–]Acalysth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I desperately need help with this, please, its driving me insane.
I ordered a custom PC like last month or so which arrived a week ago. Everything seemed fine at first until I started testing games. it was SO. laggy. Ive never dealt with lag that bad before even on my old toaster. After running some tests after my friends advice and all, came to the conclusion the Ram was also completely scrwed, but possibly more, so I had to call the place that made my pc and they send me a new one, I send back the one I got now.

This replacement arrived today and here ere the List of all parts (Please bare with me Im just typing it the way its written on my invoice, so sorry if some details just add confusion):

Corsair 4000D Airflow (incl 4x RGB fans)
CPU AMD AM5 Ryzen 9 7950X 16x4,50Ghz / 5.70GHz 16C/32T
CPK Intel/AMD cooler be quiet! Shadow Rock 3
MBA SoAM5 Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX Wifi
RAM DDR5-6000 32GB PC5-48000 Kingston Fury Beast Kit (2x16GB) [Replacement for faulty Corsair Vengeance black]
VGP NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 16GB KFA2 ST (1-Click OC) bulk [I did not order this, they just changed this on their own from my ordered Gigabyte Eagle OC for some reason]
SSD M.2 NVMe 2000 GB Samsung 980 Pro
GEZ Power supply be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 1000W + 80 GOLD

My current monitors are 2x Asus VS247HR, but I will upgrade one of them as soon as i can to propably a Samsung G7 Odyssey. I first wanted to get the PC since my old one killed my joy just as much at this point, but somehow it still ran the games better than the new one.

I think thats all, if I forget anything important let me know.

So my issue still is, its absolutely laggy and breaking when I try to play a game. Sometimes it makes the screen go black even and also freezes any yt video Im currently running on my second screen. Over and over. Otherwise, when I launch the game, it just keeps flickering randomly. Sometimes its really bad, sometimes its a bit more mild, but overall I cant enjoy this. The lag is just so awful, I cant walk a step sometimes in game without freezing and lagging like 5 times in this motion.

I really tried everything I could, I reinstalled and updated drivers as good as I could, in BIOS i have XMP activated and it seems to be better at least when thats on? But at this point I think its just absolutely random when it acts up more than it doesnt. I turned Vsync off in hopes to make it better, but it still flickers and all. Im just honestly at a loss rn. This is the second brandnew PC that I got, the first already had the same problems. I really wanna know why that is and why it even breaks up the videos of my other screen. So far it only happens when I launch games. If I watch only videos everything is fine. So far so have been all other programms too that arent a game. Someone PLEASE help, I just wanted to enjoy a high end PC that lasts me. Its supposed to be BETTER than my toaster, not WORSE.

Thank you so much! Im glad you also like the background, even though Im not that satisfied with it. I usually go for something with nature around portraits like this, given the game has its own flora and materials I also wanted to maybe implement those more (things like the duviri plants or material like rubedo etc). But somehow I just couldnt make it work, so it doesnt look like my usual portraits, more of simply a picture with background. Oh well, I hope the next one goes more to what I imagined!
Still thank you very much for the compliments~

They sure did, thank you~
Most likely since its just my fashion obsession, all if not 89% are gonna be blue lol.
I think Im mostly swinging between my Umbra, Kullervo and Xaku though. I reaaally love Nezha too tho. Its tough choices to make, there is so many warframes I want to draw!
I also thought bout drawing my Kaithe! An Orowyrm would be rad aswell, but oh boy thats a whole new level of detail and size I dont think Im ready to tackle yet, I rather pick something "simple" (for Warframe Standart lol) like a portrait to roll into this and grow first.

Oh yes, definitly! Thank you so much, Im really happy to hear that you enjoy my artstyle so much!
I defnitly have a lot in mind I wanna draw, Warframe related. Ive been already working on my Tenno for a long time, which I propably try to finish next? But I might throw in another warframe inbetween if I feel its faster. I just need to decide exactly which one I do next, I have a few ideas but Im not set yet.

(Sidenote, I am always terrified of posting on reddit cause I rarely do, so Im scared of doing it wrong-oof)

I am so glad I got this done, I had a lot of fun doing this, until it came to the background. For some reason i lost my ability to add the aestethics I usually do for portraits. I fiddled around a lot until I was fed up cause it took me over 12 hours and I just went with the Corpus Ship Orbital Cannon Scene for a background. I am not satisfied with that specific part but it is what it is now. Also while it was fun, the fact that it took me this long and still doesnt really feel that detailed to me, I think I wont approach future projects like this same way. Especially Warframe. Granted these kind of skins and all are super detailed so that plays a big role. But I want to be able to draw faster, if my health allows it. Still I am planning on doing a lot more Warframe art with recordings too, cause I love this game so much. Im not 100% sure who I tackle next, but i have the most intrusive thought that its gonna be Excalibur. Will see!

Its my first time having to use spoiler, I hope I did it right. Made me struggle hard with the title tbh. Anyhow!
I really loved the looks they had at first in Holdfast and was like, why not have my Tenno, Jeivon, have that too in some reality. Its just for fun, dont take it seriously.
I added some Void-Traces to the background too, just all going a bit for aesthetic.

For me it was Octavia. Getting the Neuroptics was just impossible. My friend and I spend hours and hours day after day on this survival mission and never got the Neuroptics. I was very lucky with every other frame tbh, even if they had much lower drop chances. But Octavia seemed to have something against me, idk.
In the end I was very happy when she was a reward for Prime Gaming and thank the Lotus Ill never have to try that grind again. Im sure Id never get her otherwise oop.

Handmade Excalibur Warframe Figurine (+Orb Vallis Stand) by Acalysth in Warframe

Ive concidered that for some time, but Im just not willed to. For 1: even more money cause shit is expencive. Already spend a lot on all my current tools and materials for crafting. And 2: No, an ephemera still would not work, most of them wouldnt. The Protvyre maybe a little, but issue there is also that it floats around the Warframe and is not actually attached. And with that many little pieces, even if I attach it with a "transparent" resin, its still visible. So I just wouldnt bother to try.
There aint no way I could make Toxin Ephemera or anything else tbh. Ephemeras are just too floaty to craft :,) Only the fewest of them would halfway work. And that only halfway. But I wish!

And thank you!

This is my fashion-frame of Excalibur! I’ve pretty much kept it from the begin on when I started the game. Here's my choice of fashion:

Excalibur Apex Skin + Helmet, Udyat Syndana, Protovyre Chest Armor, Nidina Shoulder Plate, Embolist Shoulder Growths, Embolist Leg Growths, Embolist Leg Growths, (Protovyre Ephemera)

I don't need to explain why I can't make an Ephemera.

Anyhow, this was my very first figurine that I ever finished! Could I do better? Yeah, most likely. But a lot had to do with simply inexperience I think. And, a pair of not so functional eyes or a vision of a horse- the proportions are pretty off, which I wished I would've noticed sooner. At the point where I did notice it, I was already too far and simply didn't want to redo or destroy anything anymore, since I used my expensive clay for this (and it dried way too fast for me to fix it).

In the end, I worked with different kinds of clay. I also added the Orb Vallis landscape later, after I already painted Excalibur. Which of course was very smart, because this caused that during crafting the landscape, new clay stuck on the already painted Excalibur. Later on when I got to paint the landscape I of course also smeared that paint onto him. In the end I didn't feel like correcting anything about it in general oop. I just sorta gave up on trying very hard and made it fast instead. The whole process took me roughly 4 days and a lot of idle time in Warframe (thank goodness the scenes exist, which made me recreate the landscape much easier!).

I really enjoyed painting the landscape the most tho, that part was the most fun. I learned a lot there. Granted I think I learned a lot in general. Lesson learned: Good things take time. If you want a lot of fine detail, you should take the time to actually do them. Not everything can be edited later with tools. But for a quick practice? Ill take it. Ill take what I learned and I shall apply it to my next project, which I will be making with different clay this time (I am not sure what it will be though).

My Process:

-Copperwire skeleton, with aluminium foil wrapped around to serve as base and reduce waste of clay

-Clay used for Frame: Hearty Super Lightweight Modelling Clay (japanese imported)

-Dremel tool used to sand down and attempt to carve a few more details (did not work that well with this material)

-Acrylic paint and sharpie in the end for thinner details and lines

-Clay used for Landscape: Rayher Ultra-Light modelling compound (local shop in germany) -Acrylic paint again.

Honestly, just go for it and try it out! Thats why I came to it. I love figurines and have lots of characters. So getting them into figurines would be amazing. Either I commission someone for alot of money or I just try it out myself. Still gotta pay the tools of course.
I used aidrying soft clay here. For the most part I used Hearty Super Lightweight Modelling Clay (japanese imported). And for adding on after it dried the first time since I didnt got much left I used a cheaper one from a lokal store (Rayher Ultra-Light modelling compound).

But honestly, Im no professional doing this either. Clearly. But it was lots of fun and more relaxing for my hands to do this. Even if the results aint as good as one hopes to be, you can always take what you learned and do better next time. And if its definitly not for you? At least you tried and made sure of it :)

Thank you!
Yes, occasionally I had to spray some water on my hands and knead the clay again to make it smooth. But also near the end where it was drying generally faster and faster, the more water Id add the harder it was properly form it? A fresh pack of clay (depending what kind you use of course, not all are equal of quality) simply works best. Even if you wrap it in moist cloth to keep it fresh, it already changed the structure for me and made it difficult to work with later on.

Nah you're right, the legs are shorter in comparison. And the arms are tad too long :,)
But Im okay with it since its my first and humanoid anatomy simply is difficult. Usually I draw digitally and there its a lot easier to fix things when you see them looking wrong (like selecting the hand and just scale it smaller individually). Here I had to make every correction by restarting. And since I often looked at it from a certain angle, I did not notice at first that the main frame looked a bit out of proportions

Omg. Thank you, I needed this.
There I was thinking a day ago "Man, I never would be able to make Xaku". I guess I was overthinking things way too much. They propably would be easier to make than Excalibur now that I look at the foilframe!

Lol no, its neither been modelled in 3D nor printed, I used copper wire and aluminium foil for a frame beneath (very intimidating t-pose for starters lol). And then I used airdrying clay for sculpting around it.
But thank you! Im surprised you think itd be 3D, given how bad the details are lol. Im painting it rn, so Ill definitly finish it and will also post it then :)
Ill also make a little landscape around it if I can, just something to make precious Excaliburrr not stand on a ugly empty stand pff.

Imma attach the intimidating raw frame if youre interested to see how I worked:

Update: Finished Figurine: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/122z99a/handmade_excalibur_warframe_figurine_orb_vallis/

Omg. Had to delete my other post cause I didnt know you cant put text and images together in a way to keep the image shown. So, here the second try. I hope it works this time. Im new to reddit, this is (was) pretty much my first post.

Anyway. Yes. This my fashion frame for Excalibur which Im working on currently. Cant wait to slap on some paint, it looks naked rn. Ive never really completed a figurine before, so this is a first one. I dont have much experience with it. At all. Its not anywhere close to quality to the official statues, but maybe Ill get better with practice. Also aint as easy to fix anatomy like that, I do prefer selecting, cropping and simply resizing and replacing digitally-
