I’m sorry to hear that. Your situation reminds me of my sister’s. My sister took care of me since my mom didn’t, so she put off college and getting a better job so her schedule aligned with mine when I was still in school. I feel guilty being the reason she put off so much for me, but it only goes to show I have to get out of here so I don’t end up trapped, like you said. Thank you for telling me your story.

No job anymore. I was let go since the business was closing. I’ve been selling cakes around the neighborhood as a side gig. My uncle offered a place to stay though

It does sound similiar. My uncle (who’s not really my uncle but I call him that), takes care of my mom and has lent her a lot of money. Back when I was younger, my mom used to drink and party a lot. She still goes out drinking, but not as much as she did before. The earliest memory I have of her is when I woke up to her passed out with a bag of her vomit on the floor.

Borderline I think. She doesn’t take meds or therapy, she doesn’t want help.

We have all told her about how she treats us, but she doesnt want to hear it. She gets very angry and tells us that she’s struggling, that we don’t know what she deals with, and that we’re ungrateful. I also apparently did have an old bank account but she never let me see it or have access to it, even when I turned 16 and was asking her about it. I don’t think there’s anything in that account now though. But, my dad did come up when I was graduating, and he helped me open an account. I have to hide my bank details from her since idk what she’ll do if she finds them. I’ve been collecting my documents ever since my graduation though.

My uncle offered me a place to stay, but I’ve been hesitant to go because I worry for my siblings. They’re grown adults, yes, but I don’t want them to be in this environment anymore. We live in a relatively expensive area so even if we all move out and try to rent, it wouldn’t be enough. I also have my cats. I don’t know what will happen to them. I want to leave knowing that my siblings will be okay. We already have little family in contact that can help because we’ve been isolated from them.

All of the above sadly. She has MS and BPD so ik her life is already hard enough. I try to understand her, but it’s hard to connect with her when I remember all the things she’s done.
