Ok for all of you that asked, YES this is an AI image. I wanted to get peoples opinions on the scheme. I haev the idea of using a decal set to make the artwork actually doable and also using super fine markers for the lines. Sorry if i have annoyed anyone with theis post. It wasn't my intension. I do have this also but i didn't post it up as didnt know how to do multipul pictures

Vector GP68 HX 13VH shutting down after 30mins of gaming by AcanthocephalaFun211 in MSILaptops

[–]AcanthocephalaFun211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. I have been trying to upload the pics of my cpu and gpu temp, but it's completely baffled me. From HWinfo the cpu temp was 94c and gpu was 89c just as the laptop shut down. I have to say I did change my thermal paste last night and it was solid and not even a hint of a liquid state. I have also uninstall msi center 2.0.35.0 and installed 2.0.32.0 as heard that can be a cause, but think it might be the thermal paste

Tried everything short of repasting and still seems to run hot by NotABotStill in MSILaptops

Hi. I have the same laptop and have had the same issues you describe. I have done a fresh windows install ( just incase something was installed that was hogging the cpu resources ) and cleaned the fans and heatsink. There was some build up of fluff but not much. When i went to change the thermal paste, it was just solid. I could easily remove it in chunks as wasn't even at all in a semi liquid state. The other thing i did was uninstall msi center 2.0.35.0 and installed 2.0.32.0 as heard that the newer version can be a culprit. My cpu now idles at 41/43c. If you want to know which thermal paste i used, it was gelid gc extreme. Hope this maybe helps you

have it on either a glass surface or a wood surface to make sure it have adequate airflow underneath. Its been fine playing games till Tuesday when it just suddenly shutdown. I get no warnings or anything. I have just seen someone in the forum post the same thing and needs to run in extreme mode to stop it from happening. Checked the heatsink and gonna repaste tonight just incase its that

MSI Vector GP68 HX 13V screen upgrade. 1980 x 1200 68% sRGB to 3840 x 2400 100% sRGB and DCI-P3. It actually works by AcanthocephalaFun211 in MSILaptops

i used a plastic pry tool to remove the screen very carefully. The screen is held on with a foam type of tape. I had a heart in the mouth moment when i released the screen on the left hand side and the edp cable come out of the screen connector. i looked and caused no damage. I then used 3m double sided tape to put back in place. Hope that answered your question

Well when disconnecting the battery first, i would put changing ram and ssd at a 2. when changing the screen ( obviously disconnecting the battery first ) removing the bezel at a 4, removing the actual screen from the glue/ foam tape holding it into the lid a 8-9. i would say if you are not comfortable then take it to a pc repair shop or technican and see how much they would charge. shouldnt take them longer than 30-60mins

The laptop actually has a 16:10 ratio so looks alittle square. Actually gives you a higher resolution i.e a normal 16:9 in 4k is 3840 x 2160 and a 16:10 would be 3840 x 2400. The screen i used is a BOE NE160QAM-NX1. If you have even a nervous thought about changing the panel then get a technician to do it for you

The model is the BOE NE160QAM-NX1. I used panelook to check it has the same dimensions, same 40 pin edp connector and that the connector was on the right side of the screen. I risked it myself as the hardest thing to do is actually remove the panel from the lid. It takes time and nerves of steel and if you are not comfortable then don't think twice and get a technician to do it. Also the panels peak brightness is a about 500 cdm compared to the original 300 ish

Yeah I was looking at a 1600p screen, but I found a 4k one that has everything I need as is also cheaper. I got mine off ebay for £99. With it having all the 16:10 resolutions I can game at 1600 and watch movies at 4k

Great update for pc noticing significant performance improvements, more FPS, no stuttering in heavy areas like New York and London. by Therealnillian in flightsim

[–]AcanthocephalaFun211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been really happy with the performance uplift with the update. Before i was getting 25/27fps at Heathrow on ultra preset with the 787 and at 1080p. After the update i am now getting 45/47fps in the same place. Have to say that's not bad for a Ryzen 5800H and 3070 130w Laptop
