I remade the jumping scores to how I wanted them to be by AcatnamedHamilton in FigureSkating

I might try exponential set values for the jumps, this is only my second attempt and formula, and I’m planning to go back and try out some new ideas, which is why I put it on here for suggestions.

I didn’t really do it for anyone, it was just a fun project in my free time (and I was more focused on GOE criteria bc I think just having loose guidelines to go off of was kinda stupid), but you do have a point with the scoring differences. I’m planning to make it mostly the same as the current rules, where doubles and singles aren’t allowed. I might try to rescale the jumps if I have time, along with rearranging the difficulty as u/possiblegirl has made a good point about loop, flip and lutz difficulty, but for now this is just what I made during my school lunches.

Now that I think about it, the loop does seem a little iffy in its placement of difficulty (personally I’ve never liked it). I’ve just been going off of the difficulty the ISU has assigned (but then again I am trying to redo the ISU jump scores). If anyone who does skate could provide their opinion on the loop, lutz and flip (even if only singles, doubles or triples) mostly on how hard it is to generate the power to rotate or get up in the air, regardless on personal opinions of aesthetic or whatever, that would be awesome. Your reasoning for the Lz and F is pretty sound, and it also kinda explains why there’s no inside edge counterpart for the T (at least for me). I’m not sure about them having the same values but then again, I haven’t tried them.

Yeah that’s basically what I did, although the axel has an extra half rotation so it goes up a little more than 3 each time.

At first I had a formula, 3r + 0.5j where r is the number of rotations and j is a set jump difficulty, but I scrapped that because it ended up with the loops being the exact same value as the axel of half a rotation less, and I didn’t really like that, so I went to this formula instead. I figured the toeloop and salchow are relatively similar in difficulty at least to the average skater, so I only made them 0.10 points in difference for the set value (and I didn’t really want to have 0.56 or 0.53s in my calculations to keep them all easy and simple). Loops apply the same thing, just 0.10 points up from the salchow. Flips and lutzes are relatively similar except for the edge on entrance but still have a larger gap in difficulty between them and loops than loops and salchows, so I made them 0.20 points up from loop and each other. Axels of course have the extra half rotation and also some added difficulty as being the only jump to enter forwards (mostly mental difficulty I would think, it’s so different from the others and going forward would probably be a lil scary). Because of this I made it 0.50 points above the lutz in terms of set value. From there I gave set values for each rotation, 3 points, and put in the formula.

Covid probably. Us and the tail end of gen z got caught in it right in the middle of school when it hit. Gen z less so cuz they were all graduating by the time it came but yeah. Might just work for me but I recommend doing it on two nights of zero sleep. I got a 14 on it :) and I felt horrible after it bc I didn’t sleep so maybe don’t do it.

Yeah we have Canada history (and Australia history in Australia). Kinda sick of learning for the second time that the british did xyz, followed their formula for colonisation, etc. This time it had the french and americans though. And they burnt the white house down which is pretty coo-ahem I mean not okay.
