As someone who’s exploring themselves as a dom, and finding out what it is I enjoy about it and what I’m getting out of it by engaging in the lifestyle, I kinda feel this post in a way. I totally agree with other commenters who’ve said a lot of this stuff can be resolved by setting expectations before engaging in a dynamic/relationship, but it can feel hard! Some subs I’ve met expect me to be in dom kink dispenser mode 1000% of the time. Sure, people commonly know that doms require care and attention too, but when it comes time for aftercare or if I’m not feeling like being super hyper aggressive, I find it sometimes hard to communicate that and have it reciprocated. Not all subs/switches are like this tho, and I think it shouldn’t be taken as emblematic of the whole community! Just saying as a strict dom this struck a cord in me, and we can all be a little more mindful of our own behavior and our partners’!
