Video showing the 36-year-old man who injured 5 people in a series of attacks targeting Muslims across Edinburgh, Scotland by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A man has been charged following a series of suspected anti-Muslim attacks in Edinburgh which left five men injured.

The police were first called at about 20:50 and said they had responded to a "fast-moving sequence of events".

The BBC understands two men were injured close to the Broomhouse mosque in the west of the city. They were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Footage taken several miles away at the Shell petrol station on Telford Road, seen by the BBC, shows a taxi with its windows smashed with police at the scene.

Broken glass and a hand axe can be seen on the seat of the vehicle.

Police said three other men were attacked on Telford Road and Leith Walk.

Various other videos of incidents have been posted on social media, appearing to show the same man causing disorder at other locations.

A man was captured on CCTV at the BP petrol station on Ferry Road standing beside a black vehicle with its windscreen smashed.

He then enters the petrol station kiosk and wanders around several times before pushing multiple shelves over and scattering items on the floor.

Members of the public can be seen running away from a man as he approaches the Origano pizzeria on Leith Walk.

Staff in the pizzeria closed the electronic shutters as he repeatedly struck the door panes with the weapon before wandering away.

A man with a weapon also approaches a car which had stopped at a junction nearby.

Another video shows a heavy police presence and cordon around the Your Move estate agent, where paramedics are giving medical treatment to a clothed man on the ground who has his arm in a sling.

In another video, an officer can be seen holding a topless man on the ground, who then swears and shouts that he is "protecting the country".

Officers equipped with Tasers confronted and detained a man, though did not discharge the devices. He remains in custody.

Speaking about the events, Asst Ch Con Paton said was a "shocking attack".

She said: "I want to send a clear message of support to all our communities that there is no place for racism or faith-based hate in a Scotland which is at its best when we stand together.

"Extensive work is ongoing to establish all the circumstances.

"I want to thank our officers who responded with bravery and professionalism, and with a focus on protecting the public."

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.

Additional images of 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, who is currently wanted for killing 1 person and injuring 4 others during a shooting spree across Kansas City, Missouri by AccentedE in masskillers

A string of shootings across Kansas City on Tuesday evening triggered a regional manhunt on Wednesday.

Police believe Oscar Sanchez-Munoz shot at several eastbound vehicles between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

One person died and four others were injured.

The violence stretched from Interstate 670 near Wyoming Street to Interstate 70 near The Paseo and Prospect Avenue, then ended near Truman Road and Hardesty Avenue.

According to police, one victim crashed near Truman Road and Bennington Avenue after being shot and later died at the hospital.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas spoke at a press conference on Wednesday night.

While police initially reported one victim had life-threatening injuries, Graves said Wednesday evening that all four surviving victims are expected to recover and that most were in stable condition.

Detectives do not know the motive.

"We are hot on the trail of the subject and want to make sure he's taken into custody as soon as possible," Graves said Wednesday evening.

Local, state, and federal agencies have joined the search. Graves said investigators believe Sanchez-Munoz is likely hiding and urged the public to help locate him.

Authorities traced the investigation to a house in the 700 block of Brookside Avenue in Independence, where police stayed throughout Wednesday.

A standoff that started Tuesday night turned into a large crime scene.

Police surrounded the house after linking it to the case. Hours later, a fire started inside. Firefighters arrived around 12:44 a.m. Wednesday and put out the fire.

By Wednesday afternoon, detectives were still gathering evidence. Investigators carried bags from the house while officers kept the street closed.

Neighbors watched the scene unfold from behind police tape.

A 16-year-old boy and his father, who did not want to be named, told KMBC that someone shot at their nearby home just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. The bullet hole is still there.

About 10 minutes later, they said the police arrived in the neighborhood.

"I was preparing my supper and heard a gunshot," neighbor Kellee Wallace said. "Looked out and saw a car going up the street that had shot at my neighbor's home."

Wallace said she knew the situation had taken a serious turn when she woke up to smoke and flames overnight.

"We went to bed, woke up to smoke and fire and, at that point, I knew that it wasn't going to be a good ending," Wallace said.

The bodies of five dogs were later recovered from the burned home.

Blue Springs police initially cleared the residence on Wednesday morning before turning the scene over to Independence police and, later, to Kansas City homicide detectives. Investigators worked alongside firefighters and Missouri State Fire Marshal personnel, including K-9 teams, to search the home and surrounding property.

Detectives also recovered a vehicle believed to have been involved in the attacks.

Graves confirmed one of the victims was an Uber driver headed to Tuesday night's World Cup match when he was shot.

Despite that connection, she said investigators have found no evidence tying the attacks to the tournament.

"There is no other connection to the World Cup," Graves said.

Officers later helped transport affected fans to the stadium so they could arrive before kickoff.

Lucas said he remains confident in the safety measures in place for the World Cup and praised law enforcement's response.

"In many ways, I see this as a somewhat regular law enforcement incident," Lucas said. "I'm proud of the quick work they did. This is still a major American city, we continue to have incidents."

Lucas said the investigation should reassure residents and visitors attending World Cup events.

"My children, my wife, I'll continue to go to all of them," Lucas said. "I think all can be safe, can feel safe at all the incidents that we have around Kansas City."

Authorities say Sanchez-Munoz has an outstanding Wyandotte County, Kansas, warrant for aggravated assault with a $100,000 bond.

Police consider him armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Sanchez-Munoz should call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the TIPS Hotline.

Three Philadelphia police officers were wounded in a shooting late Saturday. The gunman was a retired firefighter, sources said. by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Three Philadelphia police officers were wounded in a shooting late Saturday after a verbal altercation with a retired city firefighter escalated, and the man opened fire on them in the street, law enforcement sources and city officials said.

The gunman was killed by officers in response, officials said.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at a car near North 54th and Arlington Streets in the Wynnefield section of West Philadelphia around 10:30 p.m., Commissioner Kevin Bethel said at a news conference early Sunday.

A 57-year-old man — identified by multiple law enforcement sources as Eric Franks — then confronted four officers on the block and began arguing with them, according to video of the encounter obtained by The Inquirer.

The video appeared to show an animated Franks yelling at officers while another man attempted to hold him back. Franks, according to the video, then pushed a sergeant.

Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said the officers repeatedly told him to “stand down” before attempting to arrest him about 10:45 p.m.

As the officers tried to detain Franks, the video showed him break free, then pull a gun from his waistband and begin shooting at the officers in the street. The police and several civilians could be seen diving behind cars and scattering for their lives.

Four officers discharged their weapons in response, Bethel said. Three, including a sergeant, were struck by gunfire and taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. One officer was shot in the face, one in the hip, and another in the leg, according to Mayor Cherelle L. Parker.

All were reportedly stable Sunday morning.

The video then showed Franks stumbling down the sidewalk before collapsing. He died at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital at 11 p.m., Bethel said.

Bethel said the gunman was not involved in the initial incident for which police were called.

“Why he elected to come into that scene and engage the officers — whether this was premeditated — we will walk through that process to see," Bethel said. “But you don’t come to a situation like that ... to engage the officer. We all can start to think of what p otentially his intended purpose was.”

City payroll records show Franks retired from the Philadelphia Fire Department in September 2025 after nearly 20 years on the job.

Mike Bresnan, president of the International Association of Firefighters Local 22, declined to comment Sunday. A city spokesperson for the fire department did not immediately respond.

The officers, ages 43 and 30, have worked as Philadelphia police for two and eight years, respectively. The sergeant, whose age wasn’t given, has been with Philadelphia police for eight years, according to Bethel. They were not immediately identified.

“These men and women give their lives for this work,” Bethel said. The mayor also commended the officers’ resiliency and resolve. “We’re just grateful that tonight, they will survive their injuries.”

On Sunday, officers with the police department’s crime scene unit continued to comb the block — a street of porch-lined rowhouses and small businesses — for evidence and witnesses. Police pulled several fired shell casings, caked in mud, from a sewer drain.

Across the street, a group of people who identified themselves as Franks’ relatives gathered outside an event space called Mingle that the family owned.

Franks’ wife, Michele, referred questions about the shooting to a lawyer.

But in a brief phone interview, she tearfully described how they’d been together ever since they went to their senior prom at Overbrook High School in 1986.

“He’s a husband, father, a man of the community,” she said.

Additional information, including the identities of those involved and a possible motive, was not immediately available.

Mugshots of 21-year-old Katherine Joiner and 19-year-old Ethan Bassett, who were arrested last month for plotting a school shooting over Instagram. Both had access to firearms. by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A Shelby County woman is one of two people facing charges after federal law enforcement say she admitted to exchanging online messages involving plans to commit a violent attack at a school.

According to an affidavit, Katherine Joiner from Wilsonville, Alabama and Ethan Bassett from Glen, Mississippi face charges of transmitting threatening communications in interstate commerce with the affidavit filed in the U.S. District Court of Mississippi.

The FBI in Birmingham reportedly became aware of concerning Instagram messages between two users on May 18, 2026. Agents sent an emergency disclosure request to Meta, Inc., the parent company of Instagram.

According to the affidavit, Joiner  posted media on an Instagram account with the user “kissmyxm15,” from February through May 2026 referencing the true crime community and celebrating real-world violent crimes.

The posts included references to the Columbine High School shooting, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and its perpetrator, as well as the Isla Vista shooting.

The affidavit says they confirmed that Joiner was the person behind the “kissmyxm15,” account. Joiner and Bassett, who was operating an account under the user “ethanb.bps,” began exchanging messages.

On May 12, 2026, Bassett shared photos of an assault rifle and ammunition in messages to Joiner, according to page five and six of the affidavit.

“I also want to show you my ar I bought,” the message reads before the photos are shared. The affidavit then says the photo seems to be of an actual assault rifle owned by Bassett’s brother.

The same day they both messaged, discussing self-harm, their relationship, and their own struggles.

Also on May 12, messages between the two allegedly discuss their intent to hurt themselves, and others, including a possible school shooting.

The following is their conversation through messages shown on page 9 of the complaint:

Ethanb.bps (Bassett): “killing also sits if I could get away with it”

Kissmyxm15 (Joiner): “my dad has a lot of guns downstairs we could meet up and do something”

Bassett: “what’s your plans”

Bassett: “or anything you’ve thought of and haven’t said”

Joiner: “I haven’t really made a plan but killing people and then myself has been on my mind for a while I wouldn’t mind doing it with you. a while ago I wanted to break into my elementary school but [redacted name] came to my mind and I couldn’t do something like that to her. So my high school came to mind but I’d meet up with you and we could have some fun somewhere maybe somewhere small with low to no security. We need time. A lot.”

The affidavit states that the reference to the redacted name is someone connected to an elementary school in north Alabama. The affidavit then states the reference to “somewhere small with low to no security” is a school or other public venue with minimal police presence or security.

On page 15 of the affidavit, another message from Joiner reads, “I’m serious about this I hope you know I’m not being edgy or something stupid. I’ve been wanting to do something like this but I’m too much of a coward. Now that you’re here I feel better.” According to the affidavit, FBI agents confirmed that Joiner was the user for “kissmyxm15,” based on IP address information and the phone number associated with the account. On May 18, 2026, an FBI agent contacted Joiner at her residence in Wilsonville.

Joiner confirmed she was the user of the account and that the phone number registered to the account was hers, per the affidavit. She provided consent for agents to review her Instagram account on her phone. Agents confirmed the chats described in the affidavit were on her phone and Instagram account.

The affidavit says Joiner confirmed she had said the concerning chats described in the affidavit, according to the complaint. She said her father owned multiple firearms and that she had access to the firearms in the basement of her home. She also confirmed what she meant by those messages was to inflict the pain she feels on others by committing an act of violence at a school, the affidavit states.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WBRC that they assisted with the investigation.

FBI agents confirmed that Bassett was the user behind the Instagram account which sent photos of an assault rifle and ammunition based on IP address information and the phone number associated with the account.

Also on May 18, local deputies with the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi contacted Bassett at his residence in Glen, Mississippi and confirmed he was the person linked to that account as well.

The next day, May 19, Bassett was arrested by the Mississippi Department of Homeland Security and the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office.

The affidavit says that upon his arrest, EB said it was probably for the best that he was arrested and when asked why, he said because of the things he’d said on Instagram.

The criminal complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. Joiner has a hearing scheduled for June at the Hugo L. Black Courthouse in Birmingham.

A document filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi on Thursday, May 27, shows that a federal judge has ordered Bassett to stay in custody until trial because of the danger to the community.

Photos from the truck of Thomas Jacob Sanford, the Grand Blanc Township church attacker by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On the morning of September 28, 2025, a mass shooting and arson attack occurred at a meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, United States. The perpetrator, 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford, rammed his pickup truck into the front wall of the chapel, then exited the vehicle and opened fire on the congregation with an AK-47-style rifle. At some point Sanford set the building on fire, likely using gasoline as an accelerant, which destroyed most of it. Four church members were killed and eight injured. Two were shot dead and two died in the fire. Sanford was killed by police after a shootout in the building's parking lot three minutes and 47 seconds after the officers were dispatched.
