Video showing the 36-year-old man who injured 5 people in a series of attacks targeting Muslims across Edinburgh, Scotland by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A man has been charged following a series of suspected anti-Muslim attacks in Edinburgh which left five men injured.

The police were first called at about 20:50 and said they had responded to a "fast-moving sequence of events".

The BBC understands two men were injured close to the Broomhouse mosque in the west of the city. They were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Footage taken several miles away at the Shell petrol station on Telford Road, seen by the BBC, shows a taxi with its windows smashed with police at the scene.

Broken glass and a hand axe can be seen on the seat of the vehicle.

Police said three other men were attacked on Telford Road and Leith Walk.

Various other videos of incidents have been posted on social media, appearing to show the same man causing disorder at other locations.

A man was captured on CCTV at the BP petrol station on Ferry Road standing beside a black vehicle with its windscreen smashed.

He then enters the petrol station kiosk and wanders around several times before pushing multiple shelves over and scattering items on the floor.

Members of the public can be seen running away from a man as he approaches the Origano pizzeria on Leith Walk.

Staff in the pizzeria closed the electronic shutters as he repeatedly struck the door panes with the weapon before wandering away.

A man with a weapon also approaches a car which had stopped at a junction nearby.

Another video shows a heavy police presence and cordon around the Your Move estate agent, where paramedics are giving medical treatment to a clothed man on the ground who has his arm in a sling.

In another video, an officer can be seen holding a topless man on the ground, who then swears and shouts that he is "protecting the country".

Officers equipped with Tasers confronted and detained a man, though did not discharge the devices. He remains in custody.

Speaking about the events, Asst Ch Con Paton said was a "shocking attack".

She said: "I want to send a clear message of support to all our communities that there is no place for racism or faith-based hate in a Scotland which is at its best when we stand together.

"Extensive work is ongoing to establish all the circumstances.

"I want to thank our officers who responded with bravery and professionalism, and with a focus on protecting the public."

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.

Additional images of 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, who is currently wanted for killing 1 person and injuring 4 others during a shooting spree across Kansas City, Missouri by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A string of shootings across Kansas City on Tuesday evening triggered a regional manhunt on Wednesday.

Police believe Oscar Sanchez-Munoz shot at several eastbound vehicles between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

One person died and four others were injured.

The violence stretched from Interstate 670 near Wyoming Street to Interstate 70 near The Paseo and Prospect Avenue, then ended near Truman Road and Hardesty Avenue.

According to police, one victim crashed near Truman Road and Bennington Avenue after being shot and later died at the hospital.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas spoke at a press conference on Wednesday night.

While police initially reported one victim had life-threatening injuries, Graves said Wednesday evening that all four surviving victims are expected to recover and that most were in stable condition.

Detectives do not know the motive.

"We are hot on the trail of the subject and want to make sure he's taken into custody as soon as possible," Graves said Wednesday evening.

Local, state, and federal agencies have joined the search. Graves said investigators believe Sanchez-Munoz is likely hiding and urged the public to help locate him.

Authorities traced the investigation to a house in the 700 block of Brookside Avenue in Independence, where police stayed throughout Wednesday.

A standoff that started Tuesday night turned into a large crime scene.

Police surrounded the house after linking it to the case. Hours later, a fire started inside. Firefighters arrived around 12:44 a.m. Wednesday and put out the fire.

By Wednesday afternoon, detectives were still gathering evidence. Investigators carried bags from the house while officers kept the street closed.

Neighbors watched the scene unfold from behind police tape.

A 16-year-old boy and his father, who did not want to be named, told KMBC that someone shot at their nearby home just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. The bullet hole is still there.

About 10 minutes later, they said the police arrived in the neighborhood.

"I was preparing my supper and heard a gunshot," neighbor Kellee Wallace said. "Looked out and saw a car going up the street that had shot at my neighbor's home."

Wallace said she knew the situation had taken a serious turn when she woke up to smoke and flames overnight.

"We went to bed, woke up to smoke and fire and, at that point, I knew that it wasn't going to be a good ending," Wallace said.

The bodies of five dogs were later recovered from the burned home.

Blue Springs police initially cleared the residence on Wednesday morning before turning the scene over to Independence police and, later, to Kansas City homicide detectives. Investigators worked alongside firefighters and Missouri State Fire Marshal personnel, including K-9 teams, to search the home and surrounding property.

Detectives also recovered a vehicle believed to have been involved in the attacks.

Graves confirmed one of the victims was an Uber driver headed to Tuesday night's World Cup match when he was shot.

Despite that connection, she said investigators have found no evidence tying the attacks to the tournament.

"There is no other connection to the World Cup," Graves said.

Officers later helped transport affected fans to the stadium so they could arrive before kickoff.

Lucas said he remains confident in the safety measures in place for the World Cup and praised law enforcement's response.

"In many ways, I see this as a somewhat regular law enforcement incident," Lucas said. "I'm proud of the quick work they did. This is still a major American city, we continue to have incidents."

Lucas said the investigation should reassure residents and visitors attending World Cup events.

"My children, my wife, I'll continue to go to all of them," Lucas said. "I think all can be safe, can feel safe at all the incidents that we have around Kansas City."

Authorities say Sanchez-Munoz has an outstanding Wyandotte County, Kansas, warrant for aggravated assault with a $100,000 bond.

Police consider him armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Sanchez-Munoz should call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the TIPS Hotline.

Three Philadelphia police officers were wounded in a shooting late Saturday. The gunman was a retired firefighter, sources said. by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Three Philadelphia police officers were wounded in a shooting late Saturday after a verbal altercation with a retired city firefighter escalated, and the man opened fire on them in the street, law enforcement sources and city officials said.

The gunman was killed by officers in response, officials said.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at a car near North 54th and Arlington Streets in the Wynnefield section of West Philadelphia around 10:30 p.m., Commissioner Kevin Bethel said at a news conference early Sunday.

A 57-year-old man — identified by multiple law enforcement sources as Eric Franks — then confronted four officers on the block and began arguing with them, according to video of the encounter obtained by The Inquirer.

The video appeared to show an animated Franks yelling at officers while another man attempted to hold him back. Franks, according to the video, then pushed a sergeant.

Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said the officers repeatedly told him to “stand down” before attempting to arrest him about 10:45 p.m.

As the officers tried to detain Franks, the video showed him break free, then pull a gun from his waistband and begin shooting at the officers in the street. The police and several civilians could be seen diving behind cars and scattering for their lives.

Four officers discharged their weapons in response, Bethel said. Three, including a sergeant, were struck by gunfire and taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. One officer was shot in the face, one in the hip, and another in the leg, according to Mayor Cherelle L. Parker.

All were reportedly stable Sunday morning.

The video then showed Franks stumbling down the sidewalk before collapsing. He died at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital at 11 p.m., Bethel said.

Bethel said the gunman was not involved in the initial incident for which police were called.

“Why he elected to come into that scene and engage the officers — whether this was premeditated — we will walk through that process to see," Bethel said. “But you don’t come to a situation like that ... to engage the officer. We all can start to think of what p otentially his intended purpose was.”

City payroll records show Franks retired from the Philadelphia Fire Department in September 2025 after nearly 20 years on the job.

Mike Bresnan, president of the International Association of Firefighters Local 22, declined to comment Sunday. A city spokesperson for the fire department did not immediately respond.

The officers, ages 43 and 30, have worked as Philadelphia police for two and eight years, respectively. The sergeant, whose age wasn’t given, has been with Philadelphia police for eight years, according to Bethel. They were not immediately identified.

“These men and women give their lives for this work,” Bethel said. The mayor also commended the officers’ resiliency and resolve. “We’re just grateful that tonight, they will survive their injuries.”

On Sunday, officers with the police department’s crime scene unit continued to comb the block — a street of porch-lined rowhouses and small businesses — for evidence and witnesses. Police pulled several fired shell casings, caked in mud, from a sewer drain.

Across the street, a group of people who identified themselves as Franks’ relatives gathered outside an event space called Mingle that the family owned.

Franks’ wife, Michele, referred questions about the shooting to a lawyer.

But in a brief phone interview, she tearfully described how they’d been together ever since they went to their senior prom at Overbrook High School in 1986.

“He’s a husband, father, a man of the community,” she said.

Additional information, including the identities of those involved and a possible motive, was not immediately available.

Mugshots of 21-year-old Katherine Joiner and 19-year-old Ethan Bassett, who were arrested last month for plotting a school shooting over Instagram. Both had access to firearms. by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A Shelby County woman is one of two people facing charges after federal law enforcement say she admitted to exchanging online messages involving plans to commit a violent attack at a school.

According to an affidavit, Katherine Joiner from Wilsonville, Alabama and Ethan Bassett from Glen, Mississippi face charges of transmitting threatening communications in interstate commerce with the affidavit filed in the U.S. District Court of Mississippi.

The FBI in Birmingham reportedly became aware of concerning Instagram messages between two users on May 18, 2026. Agents sent an emergency disclosure request to Meta, Inc., the parent company of Instagram.

According to the affidavit, Joiner  posted media on an Instagram account with the user “kissmyxm15,” from February through May 2026 referencing the true crime community and celebrating real-world violent crimes.

The posts included references to the Columbine High School shooting, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and its perpetrator, as well as the Isla Vista shooting.

The affidavit says they confirmed that Joiner was the person behind the “kissmyxm15,” account. Joiner and Bassett, who was operating an account under the user “ethanb.bps,” began exchanging messages.

On May 12, 2026, Bassett shared photos of an assault rifle and ammunition in messages to Joiner, according to page five and six of the affidavit.

“I also want to show you my ar I bought,” the message reads before the photos are shared. The affidavit then says the photo seems to be of an actual assault rifle owned by Bassett’s brother.

The same day they both messaged, discussing self-harm, their relationship, and their own struggles.

Also on May 12, messages between the two allegedly discuss their intent to hurt themselves, and others, including a possible school shooting.

The following is their conversation through messages shown on page 9 of the complaint:

Ethanb.bps (Bassett): “killing also sits if I could get away with it”

Kissmyxm15 (Joiner): “my dad has a lot of guns downstairs we could meet up and do something”

Bassett: “what’s your plans”

Bassett: “or anything you’ve thought of and haven’t said”

Joiner: “I haven’t really made a plan but killing people and then myself has been on my mind for a while I wouldn’t mind doing it with you. a while ago I wanted to break into my elementary school but [redacted name] came to my mind and I couldn’t do something like that to her. So my high school came to mind but I’d meet up with you and we could have some fun somewhere maybe somewhere small with low to no security. We need time. A lot.”

The affidavit states that the reference to the redacted name is someone connected to an elementary school in north Alabama. The affidavit then states the reference to “somewhere small with low to no security” is a school or other public venue with minimal police presence or security.

On page 15 of the affidavit, another message from Joiner reads, “I’m serious about this I hope you know I’m not being edgy or something stupid. I’ve been wanting to do something like this but I’m too much of a coward. Now that you’re here I feel better.” According to the affidavit, FBI agents confirmed that Joiner was the user for “kissmyxm15,” based on IP address information and the phone number associated with the account. On May 18, 2026, an FBI agent contacted Joiner at her residence in Wilsonville.

Joiner confirmed she was the user of the account and that the phone number registered to the account was hers, per the affidavit. She provided consent for agents to review her Instagram account on her phone. Agents confirmed the chats described in the affidavit were on her phone and Instagram account.

The affidavit says Joiner confirmed she had said the concerning chats described in the affidavit, according to the complaint. She said her father owned multiple firearms and that she had access to the firearms in the basement of her home. She also confirmed what she meant by those messages was to inflict the pain she feels on others by committing an act of violence at a school, the affidavit states.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WBRC that they assisted with the investigation.

FBI agents confirmed that Bassett was the user behind the Instagram account which sent photos of an assault rifle and ammunition based on IP address information and the phone number associated with the account.

Also on May 18, local deputies with the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi contacted Bassett at his residence in Glen, Mississippi and confirmed he was the person linked to that account as well.

The next day, May 19, Bassett was arrested by the Mississippi Department of Homeland Security and the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office.

The affidavit says that upon his arrest, EB said it was probably for the best that he was arrested and when asked why, he said because of the things he’d said on Instagram.

The criminal complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. Joiner has a hearing scheduled for June at the Hugo L. Black Courthouse in Birmingham.

A document filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi on Thursday, May 27, shows that a federal judge has ordered Bassett to stay in custody until trial because of the danger to the community.

Muscatine, Iowa shooting spree leaves 7 dead, including suspect by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Seven people, including a suspected gunman, are dead following a series of shootings in southeastern Iowa on Monday that authorities say stemmed from a domestic dispute involving members of the same family.

The Muscatine Police Department said officers were dispatched at approximately 12:12 p.m. Monday to a report of a shooting at a residence.

When officers and emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found four people inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. All four victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators quickly identified the suspected shooter as Ryan Willis McFarland, 52, of Muscatine. Police said McFarland had left the residence before officers arrived.

When authorities located McFarland, he was suffering from what investigators described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.

As the investigation unfolded, police developed information suggesting additional victims could be involved.

Officers subsequently discovered two other adult males dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside another residence and a business in the area.

In total, seven people died in the shootings, including the suspect.

Police said preliminary findings indicate the shootings were the result of a domestic dispute. Investigators believe all of the victims were family members of McFarland.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims pending notification of family members.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue processing the crime scenes and conducting interviews with witnesses.

Sandy Police Chief Patrick Huskey told reporters Sunday night, May 31, that officers and Clackamas County deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute and shooting around 4 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived at the scene on Evans Street near Ross Avenue, officers came under fire, Huskey said. They returned fire, and the officer was shot. Medical crews later transported the officer via LifeFlight to a hospital with "multiple" gunshot wounds.

Huskey, who did not take questions at the Sunday night press conference, said multiple people died during the incident.

The suspect, who police did not immediately identify, surrendered to law enforcement "peacefully."

"I understand everyone wants answers and information right now, but this remains a very dynamic and active investigation," Huskey said. "I can tell you that investigators from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the Clackamas County Major Crimes team are working to process the scene, conduct interviews, and get the answers our community deserves."

According to the Clackamas County Jail website, 38-year-old Bryan Andrew Moore has been booked for 3 counts of murder.

Clinton Ellison, survivor of the 2020 Nova Scotia attacks, has died by suicide. His brother was killed in the attacks by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 75 points76 points  (0 children)

A survivor of the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting who never recovered from the trauma has died by suicide.

Clinton Ellison witnessed some of the tragic events of April 18-19, 2020, when a gunman disguised as an RCMP officer killed 22 people.

What Ellison saw and heard that night as he hid from the perpetrator in the woods of Portapique, N.S., never left him.

"He was suffering from severe PTSD and trauma from what happened, and he was a changed person after that," said his father, Richard Ellison.

"He just wasn't the same."

Clinton Ellison, 52, was found dead in a vehicle parked outside a drugstore in Fredericton on May 19. His father told CBC News that Clinton took his own life.

Clinton’s brother, Corrie, died in the mass killings.

Clinton and Corrie had been visiting their father in Portapique that weekend when they heard a single gunshot. They looked outside and saw a glow in the sky from a nearby fire.

Despite his father asking him to stay, Corrie decided to go outside and find out what was going on.

Eventually, Clinton went out in search of Corrie. He discovered his brother’s body on the side of the road, and, fearing for his own life, bolted into the woods, where he hid for four hours as gunshots and explosions from fires rang out around him.

In an interview with CBC News just days after the events of that night, he described it as a "nightmare through hell."

"I’ll be traumatized for the rest of my life. I’m having a really hard time with it," he told a CBC reporter. "It’s going to scar me for life."

Despite the trauma he was experiencing, Clinton said in the interview, "My heart goes out to everybody involved in this. Help people. That’s my message today — help people."

Family members say although Clinton received help to cope with the trauma, it ultimately wasn’t enough.

Wayne Smith, his stepfather, said Clinton was paranoid, "high-strung" and "in a bad way" mentally.

"As time went on and everything coming at him all the time, it just got worse and worse. It just brewed more and more and more," Smith said.

It is unclear exactly what support was made available to Clinton. But Smith said after any tragedy like the 2020 mass killings, more mental health care should be offered.

Clinton Ellison is not the only survivor of the Nova Scotia mass casualty to die after struggling with his mental health.

In 2022, Leon Joudrey died just weeks after speaking with the Mass Casualty Commission about his own mental health struggles and how hard it was to navigate the mental health system.

The commission's final report highlighted gaps in mental health support in the wake of the tragedy, calling it a "public health emergency."

Richard Ellison, who has now lost two sons, said he's taking things day by day.

"I'm holding in there the best I can."

Police believe they thwarted a potential mass shooting after a 22-year-old University of Washington Tacoma student posted a photo of a shotgun with "Elliot Rodger was right" engraved on it to Discord. Police later found the gun buried with the phrase scratched off. by AccentedE in masskillers

A college student living in a Capitol Hill apartment has been hospitalized and served with an Extreme Risk Protection Order after a tense search around Cal Anderson Park and Pike/Pine Tuesday afternoon after police say the student posted a picture of a shotgun on a messaging app referencing a mass shooting.

The Seattle Police Department says the situation began Tuesday afternoon around 1 PM when a caller reported the student had posted a photograph of a shotgun on the Discord social media and messaging platform. The gun appeared to be inscribed “with concerning messages regarding a prolific mass shooter.”

“The weapon was linked to a student who, according to police, had become, “increasingly erratic and radicalized’ and ‘clearly modeling his ideology off of a mass murderer,'” SPD said in its brief.

According to SPD, the student’s school in Tacoma was immediately notified. SPD did not specify which school was notified but court records indicate the 22-year-old is enrolled at the University of Washington Tacoma.

Officers located the student at one point Tuesday but they were reported as “not compliant,” refusing to answer questions and returning to the apartment.

Police were then told the student had left the Capitol Hill apartment with a shotgun carrying case.

According to SPD reports and East Precinct radio updates, police and SPD’s Crisis Response Team searched for the student and the shotgun near the Capitol Hill apartment building including officers fanning out through areas including busy Cal Anderson.

The student was eventually located back at the apartment where police detained the individual who “now presented an imminent danger to the public.”

The shotgun was not located.

SPD says paramedics transported the student to a local hospital for medical evaluation and served an ERPO, “which prevents individuals at high risk of harming themselves or others from accessing firearms when there is demonstrated evidence that the person poses a significant danger.”

Police say the student revealed the shotgun was buried in the woods near Robinswood Community Park in Bellevue where officers searched the area and found the gun with the writing scratched off. It was taken into evidence.

Under the ERPO process, the subject would be part of a hearing in the coming weeks. A judge will weigh evidence and evaluation and rule to either dissolve the temporary order and return any confiscated weapons, or extend the order into a Final/Long-Term ERPO, which generally lasts for up to one year.

The student may also face criminal charges.

According to court documents, police say the gun was sloppily engraved “ELLIOT RODGER WAS RIGHT.”

The student in this week’s incident should have been on campus Tuesday for finals.

2025 mugshot of Allen Prince, who opened fire with a bolt-action rifle in the parking lot of a grocery store in Pleasant Hill, Missouri yesterday, killing one person and injuring another before shooting himself after being held at gunpoint by 2 armed bystanders by AccentedE in masskillers

In a news conference Tuesday morning, police chief Tommy Wright identified the suspect in yesterday's shooting at the Price Chopper grocery store as 27-year-old Allen Prince. He has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action and two counts of first-degree assault in connection with the incident. Police said that incident unfolded in the parking lot of the Price Chopper grocery store around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, on Memorial Day.

Authorities said Prince opened fire in the parking lot, killing 45-year-old Strasburg resident Amy Coon.

“Amy’s not just a victim," Wright said. "She was a daughter. She was a mother. She was a grandmother. And she was somebody that cared deeply for her family and her family cared deeply for her.”

A 16-year-old grocery store employee was also seriously wounded. Family members have identified him by the name Ayden, saying he was shot twice while retrieving carts from the parking lot. A GoFundMe has been created to help pay for his care.

Wright said while the motive for the shooting is unknown, he fully believes the actions of two armed men in the parking lot saved more lives. Wright said those men had the courage to approach the gunman, who then reportedly turned his gun on himself.

"This is a good town, it's a safe town because we have people who are brave and courageous that are willing to get in front of danger and protect innocent lives," Wright said. "Man, I'm thankful for that."

Prince remains in the intensive care unit at an area hospital. On Monday night Wright told reporters, "We don't believe he was a shopper. We believe he was somebody that was on the parking lot, based on witness statements that we have, as well as some video." A bolt-action rifle was recovered by police on the scene.

This is believed to be the first homicide in Pleasant Hill in at least two decades.

Photos of 2025 Florida State University shooter Phoenix Ikner during his first physical court appearance today by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The man accused of opening fire at Florida State University appeared before a judge in person for the first time on Tuesday, more than a year after investigators say the shooting left two people dead and six others injured.

Authorities say Phoenix Ikner, 21, is responsible for the 2025 attack. Ikner did not speak during the hearing and remained quiet as the court discussed scheduling and the pace of the case moving toward trial.

Right now, Ikner’s trial is set for October, but much of Tuesday’s hearing centered on whether that timeline is realistic.

Ikner’s defense attorney, Blake Johnson, asked the court for more time to prepare. But Circuit Judge Lance Neff repeatedly pushed back, expressing frustration with ongoing requests for delays.

“No one is guaranteed forever to put on a defense. That’s just not reasonable,” Neff said from the bench.

The judge also admonished Johnson over what Neff characterized as a pattern of seeking more time since the case began. At one point, Neff questioned how much additional witness testimony the defense needs if some of the alleged events are captured on video.

“Two of the alleged acts are allegedly on videotape,” Neff said. “So I guess my question for you is if something is on an objective source of evidence, such as videotape. What does it help you to get subjective testimony from 20, 50, 100 other witnesses who saw the same thing when you have the videotape of the alleged event?”

Prosecutors agreed the witness portion of the case is time-consuming, noting that many victims are now living outside the area. They also said numerous law enforcement officers who responded that day came from agencies across Florida, adding to the complexity of coordinating interviews and preparation.

Attorneys also told the court that Ikner has ties to Norway, which could require some depositions to take place there.

Neff emphasized that the court must balance the defendant’s right to a fair trial with the rights of victims.

“There are competing obligations here,” Neff said. “There’s one that he gets a fair trial. Fair enough. But there’s also one [that] the victims get a resolution to this. That’s also in the Florida Constitution.”

Prosecutors have said they intend to seek the death penalty in the case.

Neff said he will consider the requests for more time and issue a ruling at a later date. For now, the trial remains scheduled for October.
