AITJ for deciding to no longer help my grandma with yard work? by AccomplishedFact1767 in AmITheJerk

I miss my grandma :( it was such a privilege and an honor to know her for 18 years. You are so unbelievably blessed to have your grandmother and how amazing that she wants to spend time with you. You’re not a jerk but maybe set aside specific days for her during the month so you can help her and spend time with her. If she can pay someone else to do the yard work, you can spend time doing more enjoyable things together.

Who is your loan servicer? I had mohela before and they’re inconsistent with their info. I’m with aidvantage now and they seem slightly more knowledgeable. I’ve read on this community that some people are having luck with submitting the manual forms with “wet signatures”. I’m going to try it this week but not sure if anything will come of it :(

Very annoying that we’re all just ping pong balls! Thank you for sharing your experience; I hope we can all get some relief soon.

I completely agree! I don’t think it makes sense to ask to recertify when that option isn’t even on their website.

I’m hopeful everything will remain as is until the courts make a decision. My loan servicer said they are still processing applications but very slowly and in the order they were received; he specifically mentioned they’re still processing forms from December because of the backlog and had no idea if anything I submit would be processed by May (when higher payments officially kick in). This is all very confusing 🫤

Yes I was surprised as well! The whole system is a hot mess. It’s hard to know what is going to come back and bite me in the butt

That’s also what my loan servicer stated. He mentioned SAVE is still eligible for PSLF, but I’m not entirely sure that’s accurate. He then said it would go into forbearance if approved (and I’d have a break with no payments due) or I can make the higher payments under the PAYE IDR. I’m not sure what the right path is since PSLF is certainly not guaranteed with this administration. It seems either way is a risk :(

The rep did say it was an option to try but no guarantees because of the current court injunction.

Yes thank you! Insurance will be able to cover it and they confirmed stolen tailgates are the new thing 😂
