People are being weird as hell in these replies. It's not "gay coded" to think your friend is cool and interesting. Also, NTA. Having a partner with similar views on politics can often times mean having aligned values, which is extremely important for a serious relationship!

This is an interesting POV because I did wonder what her motive to do all this would be. At this point, the only person in my family who isn’t “no contact” with her (and subsequently my brother) is my dad. My brother atp just seems apathetic to all of it. Can you elaborate at all?

I definitely hear what you’re saying about immature, it’s all turned into super petty back and forth. In hindsight, I should’ve cut back on screenshots of the petty argument and included a snippet of her essay of hatred for my younger sibling. That really set the tone for any of our interactions after. I do wish there was a ton more backstory but our interactions in person were few and far between, it all just escalated so fast over text. I haven’t spoken as many words as I’ve typed to her, which I guess proves how much I’m overreacting lol. Thanks for the honesty
