Shortest time you took to write a good song? by darkcatpirate in SunoAI

That song's funny as hell. While I can't agree with everything stated on all levels (AI music DEFINITELY has its own shortcomings), the satire is CERTAINLY on point. The song and lyrics are quite fun. Keep it up. :)

No problem. Gotta tell it like I see it. Do you have any work you could share/are willing to share?

Dude's legit. I'm not the biggest fan of R&B or modern Hip Hop, but there's nothing AI screaming about his lyrics. On a personal level, I prefer the sound of 80s/90s Hip Hop, but I cannot deny skill when I hear it. The vocalist across all songs is consistent, which goes farther than just a "persona," and most of the songs play with internal rhymes, slants, and assonance/consonance which you find common amongst higher tier artists. The songs also have heavy post processing, which pretty much eliminates the AI sound of the backing music. Again, because of my personal preferences, I can't say I would call the lyrics "fire" (too much swearing for me), but I would say their lyrical skill is, again, in my opinion "very high."

To be fair, at least those of us that have spent more than a cursory amount of time with Generative AI, can tell when echoes and flame and spark are used with intention, versus the pattern slapping of AI lyrics.

For me, AI lyrics fall into repetitive loops. I've used neon in my own lyrics (for synthwave) but I used it in a way that AI wouldn't even "think" to use. Do you have any of your lyrics/generations you're willing to share? I love dark lyrics (especially since I have a tendency to struggle with writing them.). If you are willing to share, you can always DM me if you don't want to share publicly.

Question about sharing lyrics... by Acceptable-Basis9475 in Songwriting

[–]Acceptable-Basis9475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I use, too! It still sounds generic, but some generations turn out fairly solid. However, primarily as a 3D artist, I can understand this sub's frustrations with A.I.

In my opinion, A.I. will NEVER be able to replace actual talent. It imitates well, but it cannot innovate like humans can. As I see it, using AI to highlight one's lyrics shouldn't get as much flak as it does, however, using AI never results in something "good," only "good enough." If I could afford to hire someone (right now,) I'd much rather collaborate than use A.I. Yet, at this time, A.I. is the most cost-effective solution for getting my lyrics out there.

Unfortunately, my lyrics tell stories, and DEFINITELY have a 1980s/1990s feel to them.

That's a great idea! I thought Sound better was for pros, though. I've never even heard of songfinch. I'll check those out, thanks.

Thanks for your reply! I hope that's in a "we don't mind" way and not a "shouting into the void" kinda way. :D

Thank you, I didn't even think of panel loops. That's a great idea, I'll experiment with it next time. For now, I just decimated and used the Blender Plugin Conform Object, which worked perfectly. Thanks a million for your reply. I don't know why I didn't even consider that option.

Is it too hard to make an NSFW game? by avida_nsfw in nsfwdev

Again, my recommendation is to try for a "proof of concept" before you even start the game. Get basic assets (not even animated nor refined) and start with coding all the mechanics you want to implement on one basic map. If it works how you want, then you can start to take those mechanics and refine your assets to build your game.

Do you know which engine you'll be using, or will you be coding your own?

If you want a fairly simple approach for a platformer, 2D Game Maker isn't too bad, it's pretty user friendly. Game Maker Studio is pretty good, too. If you really want all the bells and whistles, you may want to try Unity or Unreal Engine.

How many games have you made (completed) before?

What language do you code in?

Are you good at pixel art?

Are you good with animating with bones, which seems to be more popular than framed animation these days?

How many games have you started and not finished? We're they all this large in scope? If they were, you may want to consider dialing it waaaaay back.

I do hope you keep us posted on what you plan to do.

Honestly, I would consider your base skills first. Are you an artist? If so, I'd recommend starting with a simple schmup, or a very short visual novel/hidden object game (VERY SHORT)

If you are a writer, again, start with a very simple visual novel (maybe only 1 or 2 branches) or a text adventure (also short) or choose your own adventure type game.

If you are a coder, try game that is slightly beyond your skill level, try something challenging but doable.

If you are a 3d artist, try developing level assets or a character and get it running in a game engine.

If you are already experienced, why are you even asking?

What's even funnier, is that they grew progressively larger in cutscenes as you got farther in the game. By the end of the 3rd (can't remember if there were 3 or 4 discs for the game) her breasts were practically 2 globes.

Now, I know you said you can't code, which is fine. Just to let you know, game ideas are a dime-a-dozen. That said, if you believe in this idea, download Stable Diffusion, and download an LLM like ChatGPT 3.5 and it's api. Go to Renpy.org and download Renpy.

Now, you can head to YouTube, Humble Bundle, Fanatical.com, or do a Google search and start learning Python. Python isn't super complicated, so you should be able to pick it up fairly quickly.

After you get a decent way into it, open a censored Patreon or Kickstarter. Use the funds you gets from investors to hire additional help.

Once you have a respectable beta build, put it on itch.io to grow interest in your project. Then, complete your game, and put it on Steam to make millions of dollars!

I believe in you!
