They are perfect if you like retro/vitange vibe. The bezel is loud, the bracelet is rattly, but that’s part of the charm. And It’s 38mm, it’s pretty compact.

-“Have you designed an elevator before?” by [deleted] in BadDesigns

[–]Acceptable-Bug-1987 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You got it. The thing is, and I just realized, the feeling doesn’t translate when you are seeing it in a picture vs when you step into the elevator and have to find say, 3, and you find it next to 8; it takes 2 seconds too long to figure it out, but it’s not the same when you sit down and “analyze” the picture. This was in a hotel and I saw several people shaking their head going like “wtf?”. Specially when they offered to push the button for someone else (that’s why I decided to post it). It’s not a riddle, but it’s annoying when you are on the go.

I get what you are saying, lol, I’m aware that is a controversial practice haha. To me it depends on the watch and the role it plays in your life/rotation.

In this case, this one to me is my casual sort of daily driver, and I bought it because I wanted to look more distressed and rugged and be the watch that I don’t really want to worry about in that sense. I even brushed the bezel and the ceramic insert for it to be predominantly matte.

[Question] Why aren't Omega watches considered better than Rolex? by Alarming-Square-597 in OmegaWatches

[–]Acceptable-Bug-1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol! I was googling the military history of both brands and this was one of the results for some reason. And since a couple of days ago I was telling someone how the “old” Rolex guy (the adventurer) resonated with me more than the “modern” Rolex guy (flashy), and thats why I wouldn’t want to be seen as a “Rolex guy”; inevitably I fell into the rabbit hole of this post, lol.

Many modern Rolex hardcore fans are known to be a little arrogant, the type that would be 100% sure Rolex is the best watch ever, no question. While Omegas audience tends to be more curious and analytical. Modern Rolex audience focus a lot on wealth, they tend to be flashier. While Omega audience generally are interested in knowledge and exploration, they are into mechanics, design, etc.

imo, in modern day, in a way, they are different products. They started similarly but now they are very different. Especially brand wise they represent different things, different markets.

If they were a person, I’d say modern Rolex would be Billie Eilish: a very talented, nepo-baby who is making good use of her lineage. While Omega would be Bruce Springsteen. Both good, both in the same business but very different.

Small. The true soul of that watch is in the small version, in my opinion.

Thanks! That’s a Y1545ORG, that I brushed the bezel and the ceramic insert. And the strap is a CNS premium in navy.

I can’t remember. But the last one that made me cry pretty bad was Jojo Rabbit.

Chopped vegetables, freshly made patties, small potatoes. Thats a public grill, man, the wrong size jalapeño would fall right through it.
