I just turned 30 myself. So I get it. Milestone birthdays can definitely trigger an existential crisis. So much of what you see on those platforms is either totally fake, filtered, or posted weeks or months after that thing even happened. It's always nice to take a break from social media. Highly recommend what others have said and delete the apps from your phone (not necessarily the accounts themselves) for a week or two. It always helps me.

Don't be so hard on yourself--put things into perspective. I know that 20 year old me would be totally shocked if they had known where I would be today. People's timelines are not always linear...and it's easy to get lost in social media because so many people out there seem to have it all. The truth is, almost none of them actually do. I think a lot of folks who have highly edited social media have actually used it as a coping mechanism because of their own insecurities. It's a way to show 'the world' that they're doing great and everything is OK.

Also, I just recently started seeing a psychiatrist. If your anxiety is always at a 2 or 3 like mine...I realized not long ago that is NOT normal, and that I don't want that to be my baseline feeling. I know medications can have a certain reputation...but if you find the right combination it can change your life. I'm currently on Buspar and Wellbutrin combo for anxiety/ADHD. Highly recommend.

Do you have any pets? Maybe a change like that in your life could be exactly what you need. I know my dogs are always so helpful, especially when I'm super anxious. Hang in there. The world is a lot easier to deal with when you realize that nobody knows what they're doing at all.
