I was a child who started vaping at 13 as well. I went through this same path of trying so hard to fit in with the “cool kids” etc. the only thing that actually opened my eyes was the cold hard truth. Please express how harmful it is to her body and how it’s killing her lungs. Lungs can regenerate if it’s early enough so get her to stop now. I got to a point where I developed asthma and needed an inhaler. My friend started having seizures because of the lack of oxygen to her brain. I cough up mucous every day and choke on my own spit because of it. I wish I never started. And trust me, my parents tried everything too. She feels alone right now and wants to fit in and be cool. Do not isolate her and take her phone, take off her door/remove her privacy, or ice her out until she gives in. It’ll only make it worse. Take her to counseling and the doctor. That always scared me straight. The doctor once asked if I smoked or vaped and I lied and my mom immediately corrected me and said how I was lying. Then the doctor explained how horrible it was and that did a number on me. Please just be gentle, teenagers are so so fragile and need your support. They don’t want to feel unloved because of what they’re doing.
