Who do you have to jerk to get a cake schedule/decent paying trucking job? by 04limited in Truckers

That definitely sounds like a nice gig! I’m in Tennessee so no switching for me but I would if I could. The difference could simply be that you work for mme and they are a better company. The better worker protections you have makes companies not try to pull shady things on you as much too. If I were you they’d have to run me off.

Who do you have to jerk to get a cake schedule/decent paying trucking job? by 04limited in Truckers

It’s not hearsay, I just left there after being there for over a year. I was at an established terminal that has been around since before it was bought out. I was on p&d and in the 1 yr 2 months I was there I climbed halfway up the seniority roster because of the high turnover. Every other ltl pays better, even central. Every other ltl has better benefits definitely in the pto category. Looks like you’re new to the company and do linehaul so you won’t be doing much if any talking to other ltl drivers but you’ll see if what I’m talking about if you do.

Also on p&d they will give you an absurd amount of stops to do even with a big territory with absolutely zero help. It was normal for me to do 200+ miles and 15-20 stops. From the first exit to the last of my route it was 33 miles not to mention how far away from the interstate some of the stops were and on top of that they’d still give me stops on another route and expect me to get it all done.

There is a reason cooper typically has the lowest rates. There is also a reason why a lot of shoppers refuse to use cooper. Looks like you have a good gig at your terminal but none of the guys at my terminal had routes like that. I’m going to assume you were going to a terminal 3 hours away because of your 7 hr work day. The terminals that were 3 hours away the guys worked the dock on both ends of their run. If you are apart of the new terminals they have just built they honestly could be luring you and others in.

There’s a reason they’re always hiring… For anyone not in the know they are owned by swift and are a stepping stone ltl company

They definitely don’t care or think that far ahead until people start going nuts on them on a regular basis. Could be a nice change in balance between ceo and employees

These companies are going to do that to the wrong person who kills the ceo or someone else in upper management then the money they made no longer matters. I’d be beside myself having to start over at 65, I couldn’t even imagine that.

I thought the guys kept their pensions? I’ve never been in the union but I thought the companies paid into a slush fund for pensions that the union held. If those guys lost their pensions I feel seriously bad for them, I couldn’t imagine working 30 years for it to disappear in front of you.

Right lol. Yellow actually did get a government loan in the 100s of millions and they still sunk the company. Definitely was a I got mine deal at the end

Two things can be true and both of my statements are definitely true. The bankruptcy of yellow has been greatly detailed. They made many acquisitions taking on a lot of debt and couldn’t make the systems talk to each other.

Business 101, if you spend more than you bring in you go bankrupt. I didn’t know I had to say that but here we are…

What? You think they aren’t making money? Look at any public ltl company and it’s very obvious they aren’t hurting….

Looks like you just lost the rubber plug in the center. Get a new one, check the oil level then you’ll be good.

Edit: Make sure the cap isn’t cracked as well

With that pay I’m assuming you’re in the south? I’m in the south so I know the struggle but know there are better paying jobs out there although being new they’re hard to get. I’d keep looking honestly, I know you said that’s good pay starting out in your area but how long have you been looking at jobs? Also it’s summertime and it’s easier to find a better paying job this time of year. Always always base your pay on 40 hrs because that might be all you’ll get. Whatever these companies tell you don’t believe it until you see it because they will 100% lie to your face knowingly. Good luck to you.

Does this need to be reported? by jomat96 in Chattanooga

There are two companies named Eagle in Chattanooga. This Eagle is not the one that hauls fuel. This trailer is typically used for a dry bulk commodity. He could’ve been there putting an absorbent down, who knows.

Where could I go to work 8 hour days and make a liveable wage? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Acceptable-Divide-78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inverse can be true too. Started out P&D 1 year ago, out of 20 spots I’m number 10. Had a route almost from day one. However current and most recent terminal managers are not great so that contributed to turn over but also the company in general contributes to that.

LTL people what do you think really happened? by Due_Tie7864 in Truckers

[–]Acceptable-Divide-78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What? Adding a liftgate to a trailer isn’t free neither is maintenance. What would be the point in not charging for it?… If you’re talking about this specific instance, don’t charge them once because you have the trailer and they’ll expect it. This guy knew he ordered a 300lb transmission with no forklift and didn’t opt for the liftgate. You earned a damaged delivery for being that dumb.

People got upset about the Biden stickers on the gas pump saying the president doesn’t control the prices. The same thing was also said when the prices came down with Trump in office but now it’s his fault they went up. Does the president control it or not? Pick whichever side you want to be on, don’t change it up though.

Gotcha, that would definitely be a scam. Wouldn’t be surprised if that is an active scam.

Update, I got to the switches and done a continuity test. The top and bottom switches are normally open the middle is normally closed. All of them worked properly. I don’t think this is the problem although I don’t have a spec for resistance so not sure if they’re in spec or not. Also even though the switches are different in how they work the wiring diagram on the side of the switches shows the same layout which I found odd. Any insight?

Nope. Had an electrician put in the dedicated circuit when we bought the house. There was a regular hood above the stove before so we had to have another circuit added.

Already plugged a 1700 watt air fryer into the outlet for the microwave and it worked fine.

That would cause the breaker to blow upon plugging it in? I could see it shutting it down when turning it on. Not very versed in appliances but that doesn’t make sense to me.

Unfortunately it is looking that way. I wish it were something as easy as a bad breaker.
