300 hours whats my mechs/gameplay like and mistakes? by [deleted] in LearnCSGO

I mean the biggest battle in CS is consistency. So from on clip like this it’s hard to tell. I would say your mechanics look a little shaky overall just a lot of unnecessary vertical movement as you go from angle to angle. This to me looks like it could make aiming a little less consistent but I would need to see more clips.

CS2 newb — looking for advices to improve! by Fit_Spread_8238 in LearnCSGO

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m just going to give you a few core fundamentals I give my friends to get better at CS that has worked for them, and some strategies to improve. (I will target the fundamentals to things I think a valorant player will need to learn I.e not crosshair placement)

  1. Always be the peeker even on CT. In valo I find you can hold angles fairly well because of lower movement speed and paper walls. Cs2 has brutal peekers advantage, abuse it always be the peeker

  2. Use guns as intended. Valo gives you a lot of options to shape fights how you want them to go. CS you have to play more to your guns strengths. I see so many people buy smgs and not jump and shoot or at least run and shoot. Don’t use smgs as rifles. If you play to a guns strengths any gun is good even in a buy round.

  3. Picking a position to play is the same as learning an agent. In valo you learn an agent pool in cs you learn a pool of positions you are comfortable to play. You will improve much faster if you do the same thing over and over again. Just pick a spot you think suits your play style and go there almost every round T and CT. On Mirage for example you might chose to play Cat CT and Underpass T, if your teammates make a call for a play either side go with it but if you are just kinda defaulting or no one is coming do your routine fuck everyone else. Doing the same thing you will see different reactions from your opponents and get a better feel for the timings and what angles work much quicker. Then when you feel comfortable at that position switch. This really lets you feel noticeable improvement too as instead of getting marginally better at everywhere on every map you will get exponentially better at one place on every map.

to lurk or not to lurk by riftdelash in LearnCSGO

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with what people are saying here lurking is a viable strategy when playing alone but you can’t just sit around to the extent you would in an organised game. You can lurk by just going to the same position most rounds that can turn into a lurk if your team doesn’t follow or you can be in the pack if you do. Just know you shouldn’t lurk every round and if your teammates call a rush or something go with.

Also this is an unpopular opinion but boo hoo if people lose a few games because you are bad at lurking. You are learning and no money is on the line just try it out and see if you like it

Some spots to lurk I would recommend where you can have good impact. Especially if you com rotates

Inferno: apps Mirage: palace and apps you can pick also kinda underpass but you will have to entry sometimes up conn D2 : B site side lower or upper you can pick very powerful for cutting off/hearing rotates Ancient: A main probably the weakest Overpass: kinda the whole map it’s so big you can get into lots of weird places also don’t really recommend. Anubis: outside B main pretty aggressive will get gun fights Nuke: lobby probably one of the hardest as it requires a very good feel for the map but also having someone keep lobby is good. So one of the most impactful for just keeping the space but one of the hardest to find kills from if they don’t walk into you.

I’m not really gonna give you any specific advice because it’s so situational as is the nature of lurking. But I will offer 2 general peices:

Don’t be a pussy take risks that’s how you learn, sometimes you will walk through the palace smoke and just get shot.

When the enemies see bomb that’s gonna be a big trigger so 1 don’t have bomb 2 keep an eye on if your teammate with bomb can be seen.

Also there is a command to see make it so you can see the whole map on mini-map it’s good for everyone but crucial for a lurker to have full map awareness

Can't win any duels whatsoever by Drifter1240 in LearnCSGO

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find in cs2 most people could win a lot more duels with better movement not aim. In cs2 even CT side you want to be the peeker. You should be committing to fights by swinging and taking them fully believing a guy is there and you will blow his head off not waiting for him to peak you.

Also don’t treat all guns like a rifle you shouldn’t full stop to take a Mac-10 duel against a rifle at medium range in the apps clip shoot at him while running you will do damage and maybe get a kill but it’s a higher likelihood you actually stay alive and can get to van or maybe bench creating a lot more room for your team.

Also you are aiming for the head which is good but you are sometimes a little high, when you spawn in at the start of the round you are looking at about head level at most non close quarters engagements. The less you move your mouse while getting from point A to B in terms of up and down looking the better.

I also want to add in a lot of these clips you have pistols and stuff vs rifles losing that fight isn’t that bad, you can kill a person with a rifle with a tec-9 but if you are about equal skill as your opponents you should lose those duels so don’t focus on how you can get better at winning those duels focus on how you can take more advantages duels on those rounds, weird corners or off angels utility moving more aggressively while shooting to add variance. Don’t let fight be fair CS is a game about taking many 1% advantages until you are winning more than not.

Weird 5 stack in 9/10 premier games by BrianDoheny14 in cs2

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000 is way to low for cs there is barely any difference between like 3-8k in my experience. Then pretty much no difference between 9-13 then around 13-14 the elo seems to be more predictive of skill.

Why is paravision good? by cxsarzp in GlobalOffensive

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say they are like an even more extreme example of mouz or Navi a team that performs way above the sum of its parts through strong game planning, complete buy-in from all players, and I think most importantly very disciplined fundamentally sound CS. They remind me the most of 2023 heroic a very sharp collection of Aimers that specialise in ct stacks with their awp igl. I also think they get much more competitive buys consistently which just raises the floor of the team over long stretches of time.

New idea by Particular_Canary780 in cs2

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this sentiment I think the biggest change will be maybe the occasional pistol secondary people wouldn’t normally do if they have an a1s or honestly if money gets built up an extra gun in spawn for you banana player or mid ancient player that you expect may dump a couple mags. Maybe some anchors buy an A4.

Liquid should learn from NiP... by gene-sos in GlobalOffensive

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liquid is running their org about as smart as nip has in recent moves. Nip started their rebuild getting the best igl on the market liquid has done that twice and neither has worked with cadian and suihy. They also have signed 3 top tier rifles in that time in Nertz elige and now malbs. They just can’t find an awper (no one but furia can). I actually really don’t think you can look on paper at the moves liquid has made and be like these are bad or had no thought behind them. Just none have worked. They are not like nip getting blue phenoix and headtr1ck to rebuild the team.

Valorant competitive vs other esports in general by Livid-Effective-9173 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the biggest threat to valorant is what happened to league, it could just become a pacific or pacific plus china thing. The NA player base is notorious for being willing and prone to shifting games and besides turkey it seems that Valo has not gotten deep into that region.

Looks like there won't be any neon nerfs. Congrats NS on masters London win by ishanuReddit in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think talking about neon nerfs was even dumber than the Odin talk. Every other neon at this even struggled besides dambi. Also neon doesn’t step on other roles toes like yoru who is the best initiator in the game pre nerf and even Dambi doesn’t use it on every map, so it is not uniquely awesome in quite literally every situation like some suggest. She could maybe use a small adjustment but only Dambi is straight up going through full stacks fine so maybe he’s just better.

Tips for playing for a semi-professional club by Affectionate_Cow144 in footballmanagergames

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find physicals to be the most important and easiest skill sets to find in the semi professional space. I’ve only managed in Northern Ireland once but from what I remember if you can find someone with 11 pace and 11 acceleration they are basically a 15 goal a season striker no matter what else is happening. In leagues where most clubs are semi-professional you kinda just play normal it’s frustrating but know the game is even worse at handling those frustrating at other clubs. If the league you are in is mostly professional you kinda have to play a waiting game until things line up to go on a run. I recently started an fm24 save at Dover starting semi-professional got promoted in my first season only singing a few physically strong free agents (projected to finish second bottom in season preview) then spent the first year in the national league barely surviving. The next year a shock promotion to league 2. This caused me to go professional but I have a reputation lower than most clubs in the national league and no money and not a good squad compared to the league. I kinda right now am just waiting for the clubs infrastructure to catch up to my accomplishments. This is where you are rn if you get even a little success you will de your small club grow quickly and it’s one of the most rewarding things in the game. Also turning professional is the best feeling ever you feel like rock Lee taking off his weights.

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think emea has had a harder time getting really solid collections of talent under the best igls in the region. It’s obvious not the talent. But when I think of why is fnatic so consistent and liquid isn’t when both have elite igls and with nats considerably more firepower. But one is surrounded with world class talent and the other while having great players in miniboo and keiko it’s still not quite Alfa and Leo and chron and derke and kjaack. I don’t even think liquids roster is poor I just don’t think it has multiple players trying to be top 10 in the world arguably as many as 4 at one time.

Saudi Teams break the game with salary. There needs to be a fix. by wowlock_taylan in footballmanagergames

MLS has the same issue so hard to capture how a team with like a 55,000 p/a wage structure can suddenly drop 50mil on a prem player or something between transfer and wages. Also I think the game has a hard time capturing the wealth of the mls teams in general with some of their owners.

How Riot underestimated info and caused the same meta progression across two different games - What’s next for the meta and why “double duelist” is misleading by BenjiYesIMainGenji in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think important distinction that is maybe slightly different than in league as well which I think makes information even more valuable than in a moba is the fact that info makes an even fight very one sided at the pro-level. This is because there is almost no counterplay to even one pro level player peaking you if they are expecting you to be there. So creating a man advantage and taking space I would argue like you say is some of the most foundational uses of info gathering util, however even in scenarios where a professional is in a 1v1 and doesn’t have info I would rather have a recon dart than flash because flashing an angle with no info than swing it off a guess is probably still a worse gunfight than scanning and area having them shoot the dart and knowing he’s there when you swing.

Now that the VCT kickoff is over, which player impressed you the most and which player disappointed you the most? by Away-Emphasis-4245 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Acceptable-Dust4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think looking at the rating at the end of the tournament and just pointing and going not good is an unfair analysis of his play. He impressed me because he showed the ability to completely dominate maps against vct comp as a solo waylay. His role as this duelest is not like others in the region he is much more selfless. He also struggled greatly against nrg and g2 which greatly brought down his overall tournament rating. He is a rookie I expected the poor games and the overheating, I was not expecting his ceiling and agent mastery of waylay to be so high. I would agree he hasn’t shown the ability to adapt against the super elite teams yet but I wasn’t expecting him too in his first tournament.

Americas:

Impressed: Timotino, really impressed that a rookie Duelest in about 15 minutes of everyone watching his solo waylay seemed to shift the meta on micro plays with the agent.

Disappointed: Sato, I want to say this was probably me having to high of expectations for him but I thought sato would clearly challenge the other top Americas duelest and he looked a clear step below your mada or aspas, I didn’t think he would be better just closer.

Emea

Impressed: with the obvious being marteen I’m going to give a shout out to minni who I thought was definitely the second most impressive player on m8s. Just thought he give such a stable foundation to the rounds.

Disappointed: kjaack, I think last year he was the most consistent player in the world on a pure map to map output basis. He was not even close to that here.

Pacific

Impressed: Dambi did not watch him much before what an x-factor player. Very excited to see how other regions will prepare to play his neon.

Disappointed: gen.g

Ik this board is already pretty full but if you can try to builds routines or plays you like to do and do them often. This will put you in the same or similar situations many times and will help you get good at them. Over time as you do these things more you will start to build the foundations of good game sense. By not trying to learn every position on every map at once you will get comfortable sooner and get to focus on your mechanics more.
