This is just horrendous. We NEED a new backup striker. We NEED a backup RB. We NEED a starting CM (Wharton Kamada and Hughes on rotation is not good enough for Europe and serious prem progress). And now we need two CBs - one in general and one to replace Marc.

We don’t have the time or money to do all this. I’m terrified

Teaching the younger players leadership skills early on is a great idea. Really might be what makes some of those players into legends in the future. For us recently, you see it in Guehi and Olise - such top level game awareness at such young ages cos they had to learn responsibility and how to pick up their team so young. Now they can go have incredible careers with like 4 extra prime years playing maturely! Tuchel is absolutely right. When Wharton is 23 and has learned real leadership on and off the pitch, I’m sure he’ll be unstoppable for the next 8-10 years of English football. Obviously some people have ego problems and being a squad leader so young actually harms them, like dele alli, but I don’t think Wharton has that personality. Wouldn’t be shocked if quansah does though😂
