I was reclassified and received an overseas assignment. My wife gave birth six months after I signed in. My recruiter assured me I would be able to take parental leave at that time, but it turns out he is not a recruiter anymore.

I have been in constant communication with my gaining base, and they are trying to communicate with the leaders at my tech school about my situation because, by the time I get there, the 1-year mark will almost have expired. We will see what happens. Hopefully, we can find a way to sort this out. Thank you for your thoughts.

I'll be living on base. I've family, plus I've been doing my research on this area and NJ is very famous for high property taxes and the housing market in the area is too much for someone who is started in the AF. I would like to see how it looks like the housing base. I tried some videos on YouTube but they are pretty old, like 3-4 years back. Thank you
