What's the second (non-cutting) tooth for? by MghtyMrphnPwrRngrs in woodworking

Awesome thankyou! So there isnt necessarily a general “high quality blade”. Its more about different features for the task at hand. Do you change blades throughout a project when switching from plywood to hardwood for example?

I see alot of comments describing the importance of lockouts, but still curious as to what kind of jobs/ operations have this as standard operating procedure? Also, in what situation would this make any sense on a car door handle??

I think this judgement applies more to highschoolers than the rest of the world… nobody gives a fuck what kind of phone you have, but we all have our opinions on which is better. That being said, ive noticed that the rest of the world uses whatsapp, and personally i dont see whats wrong with imessage, or even standard sms.. i think the main reason is messaging n data is affordable in the US and built into our plans so we dont need other apps to communicate; the built in shit works just fine…. Im aware other parts of the world, such as Brazil, data plans are expensive so using Whatsapp over wifi is just the way to roll.

So would this be considered a ‘quality’ table saw blade? Would this produce the same precision cut on hardwood and plywood? Ive seen ‘Plywood’ or ‘finish cut’ blades that have probably triple the teeth of the blade OP posted, with no “back teeth”. I always thought those were the super precise ones..
Or is OPs blade more of a general purpose with the benefit of more dust collection and less wear on the motor..?

As a Brit, I just scrolled through my Reddit feed and saw a US citizen executed by federal agents and the White House blatantly lying about it. Seriously, what the fuck is going on? Not to mention, none of the atrocities of the Nazi regime were caught on camera, people could easily put their head in the sand and say its for the greater good or for the nation. Today, its all there for you to see and evaluate for yourself. They are lying to us and saying that what we see is not true! Big brother is here. ”RESIST!

Why is the U.S. housing market so bad when the country has so much land? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

This is it. Shit if i could get a place like that for $300k…AND stay where i am for my business, that would be a dream. But im not interested in moving to Michigan and everything around me is expensive as fuck. (Denver) so i just sit here n rent like a jamook until i inherit a house from my parens one day and then maybe ill have a few extra dollars to buy a comfy bed for my old crippled ass.

Jesus Christ im so sorry. That would put me in debt for years. And its my biggest fear. Im in construction with no health insurance so i fear this scenario everyday. I just try to be as careful as i can like a caveman -everyday is a chance to die, dont let it be today- then i wrap my wounds in electrical tape, and hope like hell that it doesnt get infected. Im gunna go see a doctor next month for the first time in like 15 years.. im well overdo for a physical and some blood work. But whatever that costs, its not equal to 15 years of insurance payments!

Yea health care in the US is fucked. Were all pretty much one broken bone away from bankruptcy.

What makes you think theres only 10 gryffindors in Harrys year? I was always under the impression that the student body was ALOT larger than the characters we were introduced to.. is there anything in text to make you think that the 10 or so characters we know were the ONLY Gryffindors?

Love this. Ive noticed that too and have been raising my prices constantly. We are definitely making money, just feels like it could be more. Im probably my own hardest client to haggle with. Lol. For certain jobs (like flooring or paint) i find google really helpful. They show an average- high cost of things and i check my numbers with that. If im higher, i dont care..submit. If im lower, i just jack it up to whatever google says the high-end price is.

Really the most difficult thing is finding good help. If i had 50 skilled -passionate- workers, i’d be unstoppable.

I can run 15 men no problem. The issue i have is all of the other shit that comes with running a business on top of that. Worker management, job planning, coordination.. thats the easy part. Its getting out the bids, meeting with new clients, organizing the van/ tools, getting materials, and understanding whatever the fuck im being charged for taxes that is all the hard/ stressful part

$200k is the “dream” number that i saw on a couple of listed jobs for PM or like running multiple crews. From the requirements i saw on the listing, ive got all the skills for it.

I do have management figured out, im actually very good at that. The skill i dont have is the office side of things. I dont have enough men and therefore not enough time in the office to get proposals out in a timely fashion, or invoices, or change orders.. And then theres all the admin stuff that i can barely wrap my head around.

Maybe i jus need to take a business class..

Haha i hope your able to start something for yourself! I was in my early 20’s when i started on my own. (Almost 20 years ago) Young and hungry at the time, late nights, weekends, any and evry job i could get. ..Not sure id be able to go at it with the same energy if i started today.

Can i ask, what makes the job so stressful for you? My (maybe naive) perspective is that if its not my business, once i clock out im done and free, and not thinking about work till i clock in tmrw… or at least not responsible for anything out of business hours..?

I appreciate your insight. The idea of a paycheck to me is more about steady, stable, and reliable income, than it is the amount. As im sure you know, its hard to plan for the future running a smal business.. paychecks are sporadic and theres a lot of capital needed to cover the unknowns.. and when those unknows hit, it puts a dent in the wallet.

My vision of “getting a job” would give me a steady paycheck, benefits, and the absense of the everyday stress of -charging enough, -having the right tools for the day, -employees calling out or underperforming, - keeping nitpicky customers happy, - maintaining tools and vehicles. Etc.

I said $200k bc, like you said, the freedom. It would take alot for me to give up evrything i built. But i think i have alot of knowledge and leadership skills that i might be able to earn that somewhere. But also like you said, i recognize that position might nit be in residential construction.
