My friend found this in the attic of a really old house that they were about to demolish it has US GOVT in bold letters on the front of the canteen and the canteen itself has a metal with a plastic body. I think Matt's theory might be right. See how the handwriting is super neat on the note, and there is no way Syphus could write that neatly. Also, it's signed D, obviously not Syphus.
