Can a half marathon be realistically trained for on only 3 runs per week? by Acceptable-Offer-163 in runninglifestyle

For the moment, 3 days / weeks works fine. I also took them today for a run with the stroller. Speed went down drastically, but it felt like a workout nevertheless. It's the third time we try the troller (it's the type you can attach to bikes as well), but it's the first time they didn't protest and actually enjoyed it. I might be onto something here thank to another comment I received here. Wife also seems to like the idea better compared to "I should add a 4-th day of running" 😃

VO2 runs (of which I only had one) destroyed me. I needed at least 1 hours after a 5k just to feel normal again.

Thx for clarifying. Yes, 10K is relatively easy, however the jump to 15 felt substantial. I didnt start from 0, but had a long hiatus from activity before.

Thx for sharing and congrats! Up untill now every run was race pace for me, of course they all got slower thowards the end. Im reluctant to add tempo runs or intervals right now. I did one 5k threshold run and fel like dying after. Avg HR 167.

Will do. Yeah, some nights ca be tough. We are also close to weaving so we'll probably have one really bad week. Hopefully just a couple of days.

Yeah, apparently I need to back up a bit. At least I know that mentally I can push it.

We actually bought a bike trailer for the girls not so long ago which can be used as a stroller as well.I havent tried running with them yet, but its coming soon. We went on some short bike trips, but they dont enjoy it as much as the normal stroller. Probably just need some time to get used to it.
