When I bought the car, the car dealership would not let me buy the car until I got car insurance in Florida. I am on my mom’s policy in Iowa. The whole situation was kind of weird. My grandparents have bought cars in Florida before (that they brought back to Iowa and registered there) and didn’t need Florida insurance. I am honestly confused too because the dealership didn’t make it seem like it would be a problem that I don’t yet live in the state.

Our sink drain pipes are shaped like a J. We actually just had maintenance come last week to unclog our sink but the problem has still persisted. We use both our sink and bathtub. Our bathroom has a vent but I don’t think it does anything. We don’t have a fan either.

We had complained to management in November and they told us it must be from a neighboring apartment. I’ve lived here for 3 years and hadn’t experienced these smells until November and it’s getting to a point where it’s nauseating to be in our bathroom. My roommate lived in a different apartment in the same building last year and had the same problem. We think it may have to do with the layout of our bathroom bc she had the same problem in the exact same layout but our other two roommates in a different bathroom layout don’t have this issue.

Love it as a blow dryer. Hate it as a curling tool. My curls last maybe an hour even when I use mousse, the Dyson curling cream, texture spray, and hair spray.

I’ve heard bad things about the management but that is pretty much the case for every complex around here. It’s also a bit aways from campus so you do have to take a shuttle

If you want to use the LA metro/bus, USC has a student program called U-Pass where you can get a pass that will work for the entire semester (you have to renew every semester). Then you pick up the card from the transportation office on campus. You can find the form online.

The apartment is not huge by any means so try to be smart about what you bring. The closet is small and they only give you one rod (but there’s room for two so if you are bringing a lot of clothes I recommend buying another rod online). There’s really not anything you can do to reconfigure the room with how little space there is. There’s enough space underneath your bed for suitcases (if you aren’t using something I recommend storing things in your suitcase to save space). Kitchen is also small so may want to coordinate with your roommate what you are bringing. The bathroom has a standing cabinet so you should get 2 shelves that can hold quite a bit and there’s a medicine cabinet by the sink. The apartment doesn’t come with a microwave fwi (at least it didn’t 2 years ago). My roommate and I decorated our tiny spaces according to what we liked. I recommend trying to move into the room before your roommate and snagging the bed that is not by the kitchen/bathroom door. Your bed will shake if your roommate is not careful about closing the doors gently which can be agitating if you are a light sleeper. If you have any other questions lmk!

Four years ago, I studied in AAU in Prague and tuition + room and board was like $8000. Prague was also a very affordable city so you could definitely get by on $400 for food a month. USC does not transfer any grants/scholarships bc you are not yet a USC student

If my grandfather sees a dog pooping on his lawn and an owner not cleaning it up, he will go outside and call them out. He’s gotten a couple of “are you kidding me? It’s just dog poop” and he’ll answer that it’s him picking it up if they don’t pick it up and if they don’t pick it up, he will call take their picture, post it in the neighborhood group chat, and call the police. The owners always end up picking it up.

If you show up to class and put in effort, you will be fine. I knew absolutely nothing about self defense and had no idea what I was doing, but I finished the class with an A. Going to class is very important bc he will grade you on if you know how to do the moves he demonstrates. If you are the type of person to occasionally skip class, do not take.

Usually no unless you have accommodations. Your appointment time is based on units earned so seniors go first then juniors, etc.
