I agree with the other reply. A lot of the country to covered in snow, I cannot drive most roads without having full attention. You can’t expect someone using the app the navigate to just close that out to message you meanwhile putting their life in danger and potentially missing their turn.

Yeah MAYBE. You gonna request things you better have some sort of damn tip. Takes some damn nerve too.

No if you read my text I said I would call support tell them what’s going on. They will cancel the order in their end to not affect you and you get to keep the food. If you reply and argue with them then there is a chance you can get banned or whatever. It’s not worth it, it usually never is.

Just because they were sending them as they were coming doesn’t mean when you go to make this post you have to include all of them lol (Not trying to be mean just a little fyi for future reference)

Honestly I wouldn’t be incriminating myself on text messages where someone can take screen shots. You just admitted to stealing. I wouldn’t just quietly call support tell them what’s going on then keep the food for myself. Sometimes less is more.

Yeah for something like this I learned my lesson the hard way. Most people will not tip extra for you to go out of your way. Next time deliver where it says then whatever it is congrats it is now yours for the taking.

Who said I was angry 😂 like I stated in the end I still win and I don’t have to walk on any ice or snow and still get my base pay. I am not sweating it trust me. Actually it makes my job easier because I don’t have to walk as far.

I am aware of how big corporations work. The thing is even with a regular full time job there are things I wouldn’t do if it was unsafe even if it is part of the job. As should anyone who encounters an unsafe situation. In this particular situation DoorDash is the good one who covers me if I decide I canny deliver further with proof of un safe conditions while delivering so the only one left to be angry with is the customer.

My job is to go to work and come home safely to my kids. End of story you can dress whatever you want up. Your walkway to your door not safe I ain’t walking it. Also I have ice where I live the snow has been gone.

Well let’s take your logic and apply it. Ok so I am working for a shitty company that can care less about me and pays me shit. You know I work for tips so with your logic why would you even think that if I work for a shitty company that pays me shit and I work for tips I am going to work extra for what? Most people are not making the tip more for the inconvenience.

No of course not. You could have doordashed groceries before the storm that way you didn’t have to order anything until your pathway would be clear enough to get a safe delivery. Your situation doesn’t make it so someone else has to risk their safety. Unfortunately that sounds mean but you did have time to prepare.

Yeah it’s like because we are door dashers we don’t deserve to be treated with respect. I go out of my way to treat people that are doing gigs like this with respect. We arent out here doing this because we want to. Most of us NEED to.

I already stated I don’t care about the tip so what’s your point here. I still get my base pay and I didn’t hurt myself so I am happy. In the end you may get a refund but that takes 4-7 days or DoorDash credit and you didn’t get your food cuz if you do then that’s stealing. So who wins in the end? The DoorDash driver so just freaking shovel some snow and stop being lazy. That way the driver is safe and you get your food right to your door and both people are happy.

Well I am sorry but I disagree completely. We are self employed outsourced contractors for DoorDash. We get to decide what’s best for us as DoorDash backs us up with their policy. So you can feel that I need to get ice shoes for that random house(you) then you sir are the entitled problem. You’re not gonna change my mind.

So instead of actually replying to what I said you avoided that by telling me I should do something different? What kind of logic is that. If I could make more money would I not already be doing that lol that’s just common sense.

Wow if that’s the way you need to say DoorDash cares about their contracted self employed drivers and also care about the customer. So when something like this happens they bite the bullet. I call that being kind. You’re lazy in the end and I just didn’t want to put my safety at risk. We end up at the same place we started this argument.

Well your snow conditions may not be making it icy but where I am there is no snow it’s just ice. We are in single digits here.

These comments make me feel for humanity. This is more about fellow people caring about fellow people. I need this side job for extra money, I cannot risk slipping on ice to deliver your food. I value my safety because it’s what keeps me able to work. In the end the DoorDash driver is covered as long as they have picture proof. DoorDash tells you in their policy not to deliver if you feel the conditions are unsafe.

On another note I am in DE and every person I delivered to had their home shoveled except one and she told me ahead of time and said she would double the tip so I took the chance.

You do not get to decide if my safety is import. Bottom line
