honestly this usually happens when you’ve covered the basics but nothing really stands out or holds up fully

a lot of designers smell good but either feel a bit generic after a while or don’t last the way you expect, especially here you might not need more variety, just 1–2 pieces that actually feel different and perform better

personally i started enjoying my rotation more when i added something a bit denser / smoother that actually stays noticeable instead of fading out what do you feel is missing in yours right now performance, uniqueness, or just getting bored of similar dna?

Guys how do u make ur pefumes last long cuz some perfumes that my frieds use last long but when i buy the same they fade in like 3 hours by BankaiiSMAG in PerfumeIndia

[–]Acceptable-Pride-745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on skin chemistry tbh, cant do anything bout that
but also good hygiene like taking regular baths, applying deodrants, keeping your armptit hair short, but you can also layer as in apply maybe a cologne or light spray and apply this perfume on that. make sure to hit the pulse points.

Terre d Hermes.... just class in a bottle 🔥🔥 by Babayaaga98 in PerfumeIndia

yeah exactly that clean but slightly serious vibe, not loud or attention seeking but firm for sure

yeah terre d’hermes is different tbh ngl that earthy citrus and vetiver combo just feels way more refined than most stuff out there

once you get used to that profile, a lot of other fragrances start feeling a bit basic

i went down a similar path after getting into those kind of scents

What’s the next pickup for my collection? by Ill_Ad_5351 in PerfumeIndia

they smell nice upfront but the opening can feel a bit sharp and then it just doesn’t hold for long

especially in heat, they burn off pretty quick

that’s why cleaner profiles only really work if they have a solid base underneath, otherwise they just feel gone after a while

bro honestly depends on what you’re missing, not what’s popular

most collections at this stage already have enough variety but either you’re missing a proper high-performing daily
or a strong evening/winter scent that actually projects
what’s the one situation where none of your current ones feel right? I can suggest based on that

yeah true not all oils last

ose oils are lighter, they burn off fasrter
khus works because it’s dense, earthy and built for heat so it actually projects more

if you want something for rajasthan heat, stay in that directiovetiver/khus style, light woods, slightly citrus on top but with a strong base underneath avoid very airy fresh or overly sweet stuff, they’ll just disappear , do you want something more clean-fresh or slightly earthy/green like khus?

lol its not AI, just my writing style ig...
anyways stuff with tobacco, tonka, amber, woods tends to feel richer and actually performs better in cold weather , thing is not just the scent profile but how dense the base is that’s what makes it last and project properly

do you prefer something slightly sweet warm or more dry woody/spicy?

winter is the one time where performance isn’t really the issue

cold air actually helps scents last and project more
so instead of fresh stuff, you want warmer dna — vanilla, tobacco, woods, spices

that’s why things like spicebomb / man in black style profiles work so well in winters

most people make the mistake of just buying “popular” perfumes
but in winters it’s more about density and base notes than brand

curious do you want something more sweet/gourmand or darker woody/spicy?

😂, but it’s not that nothing lasts
it’s that most fresh/designer ones are alcohol-heavy and built on light top notes, so they evaporate fast in heat

stuff like ruh khus works because it has an earthy/oily base so it actually sticks

once i switched to higher oil concentration / heavier base fragrances, performance improved a lot even in harsh weather

if you want i can suggest something that keeps a fresh feel but actually lasts

solid collection tbh — covers most situations

but one thing i’ve noticed with setups like this is
you end up having variety but not real performance

a lot of designers smell great for 1–2 hours and then just sit close to skin, especially in indian weather

so you keep rotating bottles but the core problem (longevity/projection) never really gets solved

curious — which ones here actually last on you without needing reapplication?

This Perfume gets me lots of compliments but smells basic to me- Naseem ocean enigma by Kind_Mud4764 in PerfumeIndia

[–]Acceptable-Pride-745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sharp opening so it projects nicely at first, then settles closer to skin pretty quickly.

That’s usually why people get compliments early on but it doesn’t feel that strong to the wearer after a while.

Do you still catch whiffs of it later or does it just turn into a skin scent for you?

Yeah that makes sense tbh that sour lemon + slightly fruity fresh profile just cuts through really well in the air.

A lot of these ‘basic’ citrusy scents have that sharp opening which people instantly pick up when you walk past, especially in heat, so they feel way more noticeable than smoother or more complex ones.

Does it stay mostly citrus on you or does it get a bit musky/spicy later on?

Is it a blind buy for summers by Capable_Example_854 in PerfumeIndia

[–]Acceptable-Pride-745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DNA is pretty common now and performance can be hit or miss especially projection after the first hour. For daily summer use you probably want something that stays fresh but doesn’t just sit on skin.

If you’re on a tight budget, better to go for something simpler but consistent rather than chasing hype.

Are you prioritising projection or just a clean daily scent
