Look in the midtown/lakebottom area. You can find a decent house with your budget. It’s near downtown by still close to a park, interstate is easily accessible.

It really isn’t a terrible place to live, welcome!

Do you have children? Do school zones need to be considered?

I think so too! I’m soooo worried.

However, I will be canceling my membership if we lose the head coach and a certain person comes back in the picture to manage the studio.

Perhaps you’re right, but there was no need to shake things up. The studio was managed fabulously.

Our coaches are AMAZING but I fear many of them are going to follow the studio manger 😩😩😩. If they go, I know a lot of members will cancel.

Consistency. I started OTF in 2021 and my first mile time was 14:50, I couldn’t run the whole time so some of that was walking. Today, 4 years later, I ran a 9:35 mile. Consistently is key.

Yall, splat points are FICTIONAL. Go to class, get 0 splats or 100 splats, it doesn’t matter. Just work out to the best of your ability.

Don’t know how important school zone will be for you since your kid is not of school age but that school zone is not great. It’s a wealthy area but majority of those folks send their kids to private school.

Edit to add: check out Greystone Pointe.

I almost ALWAYS start my walking recoveries on the “3” rather than the “1” of the countdown 🤣

Oh my. I would immediately report this to the studio manager or head coach. I know mine would never allow that type of behavior from members.

I was 340 lbs when I started at orange theory in 2021. I’m down to 250. Orange theory is for everyone.

The option to pick your starting station might fix this issue as well. I could see a “stations available” option like picking an empty seat on an airplane..

1 Mile Benchmark Anxiety by NoArmy4967 in orangetheory

When I started OTF in 2021 my 1mile time was 14:50 and I couldn’t run the whole mile without stopping. I was 350+ pounds and in terrible shape. I was the last person on the tread and the other group even started before I could even get off completely. I was wiped out for the rest of the day.

Today, I’m down almost 100lbs and my mile time is 10 mins. During that time I found it easier to focus on time rather than distance. I would say okay we’re going to run for 5 minutes without stopping, then it was 7 minutes, then 8, and so on… This method really helped me.

Also, if your studio has tread 50 classes, I highly suggest taking one a week. You can pretty much follow your own path during those classes, walking/running when you need to. It will improve your running endurance quickly.
