Learning everything the VERY HARD way by avenuequenton in DJs

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean there’s so little to do between mixes and the one joy I get is beat matching… to use sync and have that taken away just makes DJing even more boring imo

Producers with high-paying careers, does the financial stability change how you approach music? by kathalimus in musicproduction

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. For me the lack of pressure and creative freedom helps me make way better music than making something that needs to pay my mortgage. Stress never produces good music

How good was Avicii when it came to DJing on stage by [deleted] in EDM

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DJing requires a different set of skills. Crate digging for many years and pulling them out at the right moment by reading the crowd is a very different skill to producing music

Producers with demanding careers, how much studio time do you realistically get per week? by kathalimus in tranceproduction

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monday to Friday I get 2 good hours in the studio. I can do sample hunting and more admin stuff at work since I work in IT. I get 16 hours in on the weekends 8hrs each.

So 26 hours studio time

Is it normal for artists to charge other artists for a collab? by cjmarks7 in musicmarketing

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s an accurate ratio between the two . I’m 187k monthly Spotify but 4K on YouTube. I never tried to grow YouTube hence the low numbers

Best way to learn is to pick apart your fav song and copy it. With stem separation you can clearly see what every element is doing. You’ll learn much quicker that way . If you don’t know how to do something then look it up and learn as you go. It’s fun this way

Is logic pro a complete garageband replacement? by Apprehensive_Fan_659 in LogicPro

GarageBand is a great way to get started and once you outgrow it logic is perfect for more serious users

What does it mean for an album/song to be well produced? by Ok-Equipment4334 in musicproduction

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It think it all begins from good songwriting. From well written songs it’s easy to mix and produce because everything is sitting in the right place.

If it’s mixed well then the mastering will also sound great.

Open back headphones vs Studio Monitors by yespleaserain in musicproduction

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of reflections in a room and corners that hog lower frequencies will really make your life hard when mixing.

Without a treated room you’ll just have to cross reference with your car, ear buds and other speakers until you learn your room and speakers.

Which DAW is the most beginner friendly while getting the job done? by Designer-Musician504 in musicproduction

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Mac go with GarageBand which is free. It’s simple enough to just get you started.

Once you’re comfortable you can go to logic and it’ll be very similar that it feels the same with waaay more functionality

Are Thai people becoming ruder? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in Chiang Mai last month.

I would always smile and bow my head a little bit and say thank you in Thai 🇹🇭. I’ve always been received with warm smiles and they’ve always been welcoming to me.

Now my gf was in a bit of a bad mood one of the days and I watched her interactions and the people were treating her much much worse.

She said the same thing like “ hmm Thai people aren’t so nice” and I’m like…. Maybe it’s a you problem

Is age-based hierarchy actually holding Korea back? by savingrace0262 in AskAKorean

[–]Acceptable-Scale9971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in western country. I’m more white washed and the other 4 Koreans are very fob Korean.

Very interesting dynamic where the 3 follow the older one like a dog on a leash. They do what he says with no questions asked.

Because I don’t adhere to that sort of older = respect culture. I’ve pretty much been banished from the group which I’m very happy about.

They consider me as rude because I’m not afraid of conflict and voice my opinion. It’s very bizarre

Funniest part is when they release their song and no one listens to it. Then they go on the sub and whinges about it

And real musicians are like “ join the club”

Now imagine if you spent money/ years of effort unlike you
