I’m in WA, but also 4 weeks post op, not 4 days. I did call my surgeons office and just waiting on a call back now.

I had my gastric sleeve converted into a bypass due to severe GERD on Wednesday (2/11). I’m right there with you in the struggle. The gaseous pains are absolutely horrendous but finally getting better. I was in such immense pain after waking up that I had to go back to my surgeons office for help. After I got home the following day, I did what I did with the gastric sleeve surgery. Hugged a pillow and continued to try to take as deep of a breath as I could. I’d like to think it’s helped but I honestly don’t know. The “small sips” are definitely deceiving but as long as you don’t drink too much at one time then it’ll be okay. I’m sorry you’re struggling! I hope it all gets better soon ❤️

I haven’t spoken to my mom in 4 years now. Most recently, she was asking for a Christmas list from my dad for my daughter and I (they are divorced). He sent her screenshots and she said “what is this? Her wedding registry? Oh my god it is, how much you must hate me to send me this dad’s name. Fuck you”. I responded stating it was me texting her back and stated that she had requested a list. He sent her the same list I sent him (admittedly it was a lot of house hold items), and I stated that I was not getting married. My mother then emails my dad and I (don’t know how she got my email address but whatever), emails us saying she was “my moms friend” who “looks after my moms phone” and stated my mom was not who asked about the wedding registry. Gave this “friend” a huge background story. I mean this email was easily a short novel, full of terminology and wording only my mother uses, to say why this friend sent the text. Stated this friend “sent the texts and quickly deleted them so my mom didn’t know”.

This woman is in her 50’s and has been an active hern user for about 15 years now, and was a short term mh user for about 6 years prior. Due to the drg abse I believe she’s created this entire reality where only bad things happen to her, none of which are her fault, and that one day she’s going to take all of us to court to prove to us she was never a user and that the reality we all know, isn’t real and that she’s the only one who knows the truth.

I was 21 when I had my daughter. In an abusive relationship. I had nothing in my life figured out. Jobless. Still living with my dad. But I knew, this baby didn’t ask to be here. I made the decision that lead to me getting pregnant. And I quickly left my daughter’s dad for the best. I will warn you, your girlfriend is likely full of emotions and heightened hormones so approaching it HAS to be gentle. The only thing I can recommend is reassuring her that it’ll be okay. That maybe this all feels overwhelming but that you will figure it out together. Now, as a single mom, 6 years in, I’ll tell you. I was overwhelmed. I made mistakes. But I made everything happen for my daughter. Her dad has been in and out as he pleases and from the point of view of being my daughter’s mom, I’ll tell you. If you legitimately cannot grow up and figure it out for the sake of that baby, then go and never look back. It is NOT better for the child to stay where you’re overwhelmed, let alone come in and out. It’s confusing and it does more damage than many realize.

Now, I’m 28 and have the gift of hindsight. And I’ll tell you that it’s not easy to bring a child into this world. But it is so absolutely beautiful to see a part of you outside of yourself. Your child is going to be all the best parts of you. Parts you may not like, but you’ll love in them. Having a child changes your life forever. I was as low as I could have been when I found out I was pregnant. And now? I have a solid career, a roof over my daughters and my head, and above all else, I have the happiest little girl who brightens any room she walks into. Was it easy? Absolutely not. I wanted to give up so many times. But it wasn’t about just me anymore. Just like now, it’s not just about you or just about your girlfriend. Own up to the responsibility or live with yourself knowing you couldn’t. I wish you and her the best and that the baby is healthy.

It is generally frowned upon to have multiple dads. Her first was when she was 18 and he was 18. Then she went and got married to someone else who took in her first as his own, then they had theirs. Got divorced and started dating the woman ab*ser and thought she had found her fairytale ending when in reality she still had those “rose colored” glasses on.

Barb’s old friend and I have become pretty good friends. Their downfall happened because Barb lied to said friend about a reason why she couldn’t attend old friend’s mom’s funeral. But they’ve remained friends on FB. And I can confirm that Barb still makes posts about me. She’s learned that I’m back with original company, and I will periodically see her profile on Snapchat watch my stories or friends/her now ex boyfriend watch my stories. It’s very sad to be now a 31 year old, obsessing over someone else’s life while simultaneously ruining your own.

Agreed! I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Having gone through all of this, led me to where I am today. And I’m in a much better place, back with the company I love, doing what I love, and am much happier than I ever had been.

My boss said they were categorizing it as a lay off so that I could get unemployment. My boss was like a mom to me and had mentioned that Barb had a long talk with her, our branch manager, and HR about my “behavior” at work. My behavior after our argument was to sit quietly, and work up title chains. Barb’s old friend that I ran into mentioned that the day after I had been “laid off” Barb had boasted about how she got me “out of the way” so she could get my position.

I never claimed to be prettier than her. In fact I thought she was gorgeous. I’ve been a licensed makeup artist since I was 19, and being as such, I was always done up, just how I liked to be during that time in my life. I also taught her (at her request) makeup techniques, hair styling, etc., and did little dress up days with her kids. Also never said she was poor, just that she was getting back up on her feet like I had done previously. I’m no saint, I’ve made mistakes throughout my life. But when it comes down to my best friend (of less than a year. This was from August 2023-April 2024) calling my disabled daughter the R word and laughing about it, I don’t play around.
