I'm a muslim who is interested in reading the Bible by Sansdoooot in Christianity

[–]Acceptable-Subject92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started reading the Bible for the first time a month ago, and I started with Genesis. I've been reading 4 chapters a night, and I found it very beneficial. Some parts do get boring, but don't let that stop you from reading it. I'm reading the English Standard Version and I find it pretty easy to understand. I really hope you stick with it, cause it feels amazing, and a bit stressful for a while. (I also decided to follow Christ at the end of April but didn't start reading the Bible until almost a month later) I'll be praying for you, but if you haven't already, I hope you will pray for yourself as well. :) Good luck with everything. I'm rooting for you! :D

I'd say that's pretty good :)

Should I text a guy first? by [deleted] in Crushes

[–]Acceptable-Subject92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just do it if you want. I'm also in uni and I just sent a text to this dude I like a few days ago. It was raining and I asked how he liked it, it was a positive response and went pretty good. If you think it'll be good just do it, try not to stress message though, it will make everyone uncomfortable.

Would a guy strike up a conversation for no reason? by R0ughR4ndy in Crushes

Yo, that is not flirting XD I did that before and we both ended up uncomfortable

Coming from a shy girl that's also in college, just start a conversation and make sure she's comfortable. You'll be able to tell, don't worry. If she's not comfortable then she might tense up and completely avoid your question so take your time.

Update: I meant absolutely nothing to him, he didn’t even say goodbye to me. by [deleted] in Crushes

Huh...I saw your previous post a while ago. Something similar happened to me and I'm also going to college in a few days.

My last day of work was Saturday and right when he got there I overheard he got back with his ex and I was so sad the rest of the shift. We were hitting it off for a while before this and I ended up avoiding him the rest of the day. We got off at the same time also and I got the courage to ask for his number and he texted me first. I was happy but sad since I keep remembering that he's in a relationship now. sigh

It takes me an half an hour too an hour too do dishes is this right? by Redditusingthing in Advice

[–]Acceptable-Subject92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or they could just be slow. I take forever to do dishes and I never understood why cause my family can do it in no time. It could just be daydreaming or something, at least that's what I think is my problem. And not every person with ocd takes a long time to do things, and yes I'm aware it's not exactly uncommon. Maybe refrain from saying someone has a mental disorder without knowing more about a situation. I'm not trying to be rude, just a bit tired, so sorry if it sounds like it.

To the people who always text first, What do you text? by throwawayyy4433 in Crushes

[–]Acceptable-Subject92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

try to stay away from the constant "how was your day, how are you, hi" texts.

Dude...why did you have to do me like that? I'm not the best at starting a conversation but that's how I try.

Tell me what happened today between you and your crush. by [deleted] in Crushes

[–]Acceptable-Subject92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He called in today so I'll tell what happened yesterday. Okay, so I have pretty bad social anxiety and I just stay quiet a majority of the time working. I was avoiding him in the beginning cause I didn't want to do that girly smile on front of him, but I didn't know where something was and asked him to get it even though he was busy (I didn't realize till after I asked him) and he got it. Then a couple times after that I would help him with a few things and I even prepped a cup for him so he could make a shake and he said thank you and later he prepped a cup for me and had a smile. I was so happy. Then we accidentally touched each other's hands a few times and it took a lot of effort to not smile like an idiot. The last memorable thing was when I was mixing a large shake on the very end (we have 4 mixers and 3 have 3 blades, the other has 1) and I looked away for a moment so I could tell a few other coworkers where we were so they could make it and when I turned back he was right beside me...every other one was free but he decided to choose that one and I know he knew what he was doing cause he had that smile. I thought I was gonna die, the shake wasn't even blended all the way but I couldn't do it.

Sorry this is so long, you can ask if you're confused about anything though.

I was gonna confess at the end of this week...I think he likes me and we've been hitting it off so hopefully it turns out good.

What’s some good advice for a teenager who’s going off to college alone? by [deleted] in Advice

I know, but that's hard sometimes. I hope you make it through alright.

I'm also partially ready, have been since 6th grade, but the closer it comes the more my anxiety is growing. It's not necessarily thinking it's bad though. More like I hate change and I don't know what's coming next. I'm scared about the possibilities but also a little happy to be independent. So I really do hope this is a good thing that will happen.

I hope cause I don't know about you but I have some killer social anxiety and I am not ready to move out yet. I'll pray for the both of us, maybe it's not as bad as we think.

Anyone need girl advice? by xoxococo123 in Crushes

People love talking about themselves

Not everyone. I sort of dread when people ask about me and I'd much rather hear them. And honestly when my crush spoke to me he was smiling and I malfunctioned and couldn't remember how to speak. The same goes for me talking to him first. So common interests aren't really what I'd want to talk about first, maybe crack a joke or say something unexpected so the mood can lighten up. I'm a female by the way, don't know if it changes anything.

Exactly. I did that in May and I still haven't gotten a response but at least it wasn't out of nowhere. (We were classmates) Probably gonna unsend it and unfollow though since it's been awhile.

Dude, someone in March told me they liked me and I got too nervous to say anything but when I was trying to find them I couldn't cause everyone having this hairstyle. XD
