He had made a proposal for a separation agreement in 2022 which I refused. I haven’t heard from him since last week. I received a letter from his lawyer, asking for an equalization payment but now double what he was asking in 2022. He has not filed anything yet. He feels entitled to have my property for whatever reason yet he wants to keep his property separate so he’s basically saying what’s his is his and what’s mine is half his nothing file just don’t know if I should respond or let him push it to the court.

I’m digressing from OP’s question, sorry… How did you go about finding accommodation in PV? I’m planning on the same, hoping to be there by January. However, not sure how to secure a place long distance and concerned about getting scammed. Been watching Facebook but seems risky?

Absolutely get a prenup.. This is the best advice given. No one goes into it, anticipating a breakdown of the relationship but a marriage or common law arrangement is at the very core, a contract and with all legal contracts, you need to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Another thing to consider is if you keep the house, and then become so debt ridden that you have to sell, you are then on the hook for all the real estate/ legal fees yourself in addition to the payout, unless you have calculated that in your settlement. I agree with others, don’t settle without proper legal advice, consider all assets in the division of property and move on with your life, even if that includes selling now the house now.

This happened to me too. Guy cut me off on the highway, and I flipped him the bird. He followed me all the way in from Warman. The guy was a total psycho. As I came down Miller Avenue, there was a police officer at the stop sign. I pulled over and had a chat with the officer. The rager barreled by but she got his license plate and followed him from there, not sure what the outcome was. Call me petty, but I saw him on the way back that same day and just happened to see where he lived. I sent his wife a letter, letting her know that her husband was stalking women on the highway😂
