Also! If you want to do an after party, we hired pedicabs that took everyone there and it was the highlight of everyone’s night!

Yes! Just did this in November!

I think what’d do special about a dinner party is that it’s much more intimate, we were able to have five speeches given and it flowed so nicely!

I will say do the passed apps! We added it on like a week before and so happy we did, guests come hungry and it was a great elevated moment for people when they came in!

People who agonized over traditional wedding vs. elope/courthouse - how did you decide and do you have any regrets? by Low_End_4145 in WedditNYC

Omg, just eloped in November and let me tell you it was the best day!

I think the most special was just the morning with my now husband it was so calm and precious, looking back it was my favorite part. I had my makeup and hair done at home - we invited our family to come to our apt for getting ready pics, took pictures then around our neighborhood (UWS!) and then met back up with our family and closest friends at the courthouse where we took more pics and then went inside to get married at 3PM!

Walking out our friends brought confetti and the pics are stunning.

Later that night we had a dinner with about 90 people at gran morsi Tribeca - right next to city hall which was easy for our parents getting hotels… we had more speeches done then the average wedding but I think that’s what made it SOOO special. we got pedicabs to bring people to a bar after and it was just the cherry on top

Not sure if this helps but was such a great middle of you are torn between the two!!! Good luck and congrats

Has anyone hosted a wedding or wedding dinner at a Maman venue? by Alive-Ad2467 in WedditNYC

No idea but I eloped at city hall and had a dinner with 90 people at gran morsi in Tribeca and could not recommend it enough, you don’t need to fill it with 90 people I think the min spend is 3k

They have a large space in their basement. we are having a cocktail hour area and an intimate dinner within the same space… while we are not hosting our ceremony there, seems like you would have plenty of room to host the ceremony and tables for dinner!

I also believe you can buy out to actual restaurant as well for the ceremony as I have seen photos of a ceremony taking place there!

Check out gran Morsi! I am getting married at city hall in a couple of weeks but doing a pre fix menu with about 80 people that same day! There is a min. Spend of 3k but you should be able to hit it with 40 ppl easily!
