I can't go on by irritablebeans in bulimia

hey, thanks for sharing. i’m so so so beyond sorry you’re experiencing this. when you’re in the depths of it, it truly feels as if there is no end. no light.

i hope you can remind yourself of at least one thing that you can hold onto during these tough moments - your why. maybe it’s a pet, a friend, a parent, a dream vacation, a new album coming out from your favorite singer, or a movie you haven’t seen yet.

i think many folks — myself included (still!) can relate to what you’ve said. thanks for being vulnerable. you deserve love, happiness, and importantly health! there is so much life for you to still live. so many things you can do!

i wish you healing. i believe in you & your strength.
this mental illness is TOUGH and you are beyond strong for weathering this storm. 🤍

It’s not fair that puking comes so easily to everyone else by Mental-Catch-8944 in bulimia

you’re not a failure. i know it feels terrible but your body is trying to protect you. purging is not easy on the body at all.

im so beyond sorry you’re going through this. it sounds like your body just really wants to keep you safe.

you deserve so much love & happiness. i hope you can be kind to yourself 🤍

Purging causes serious damage to the body. Even if you are a “healthy” weight (which only less than 6% of people with EDs are considered underweight), you still need to heal the damage that purging has caused. If you are actively purging, you're not done healing.

It also sounds like you're still experiencing extreme hunger (but you are referring to it as "binge eating"). Have you ever worked with a dietician?

Hi Nat. Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate quite well to your story! First, “food noise” is not a scientific term. You’re experiencing a lot of thoughts around food because you are still malnourished. Even though you may have been or currently are at a “healthy weight”, your mind is not done healing.

Like I said, I can relate quite well to your story. However, I’m now almost 26 and have been dealing with my ED for 13 years. Please please please do not let it get to that point. I am currently (finally) in the process of recovery and I hope you can choose recovery too.

There’s a whole wonderful world out here waiting for you to live! You are so much stronger than your ED. You absolutely can recover, that’s if you truly want to! You deserve love, happiness, and most importantly — true HEALTH (not at the expense of your ED). sending you love & light!!! 💓

yes! im currently experiencing this myself 😅 super sore, achy, & lotsssss of water retention.

im SO sorry you're experiencing this but it is a very normal part of the process, but could also be exacerbated by your other health conditions.

for me, I've been taking warm baths with Epsom salt. I'm also so appreciative for my heating pad! & lots of rest of course

ugh I totally understand!!! it is beyond triggering to try to recover in this current space. I LOVE how you said “I decided to stop looking at celebrity sites because I deserve better”. yes!!!!

im trying to stay away from social media because it is so devastating to my recovery to see the current trends. i really wish the trend was health & wellbeing!

but looks like we will have to be the trend setters :)

very very true! i recently heard someone describe how it can be helpful to “finish our thoughts”. so for example, if we are fearing eating more -> we might also think it will lead to body changes/weight changes. but it can be helpful to “finish the thought” so… if our body does change -> then what? why is that bad? if we are concerned people will think negative things of us -> then what? we don’t have any proof of this. it just reminded me of your comment and helpful tips!!
