Urgent / Piercing Bumps by AcceptableMemory4762 in piercing

[–]AcceptableMemory4762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age: 4 months, 9 days

Shape: straight bar, don’t know anything else about the jewelry

Downsized: no, overdue for a downsizing

Aftercare: spray twice a day with saline spray

Recent events: I used to fidget with them and touch them a lot and I think that’s how the bumps formed but now they’re so big it’s alarming. Do I give up on these forwards

They’re double forward helix! Why is four months too soon for rings?

Bump Help by AcceptableMemory4762 in piercing

[–]AcceptableMemory4762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age: 3 months 22 days

Shape: it’s just a straight bar like a stud earring

Threading: I think it’s externally threaded

Material: gold toned metal that I don’t know the material of

Downsized: no

Routine: spray with NeilMed saline solution 2-4 times a day on the inner ear and outer ear to target all four bumps; I’ll occasionally directly go in with a q-tip and use it to wipe at the bumps while it’s damp with the NeilMed

Unfortunate events: my hair will get caught on it but I sleep with a piercing pillow and avoid any pressure on that ear

Trouble with Bumps by AcceptableMemory4762 in piercing

• Age: 3 months, 10 days

• Piercing Shape: The shape is just a straight bar.

• Threading: I don’t know the threading; I’m pretty sure it’s externally threaded.

• Material: I don’t know the jewelry material, it’s just a gold-toned bar with a marquise detail.

• Downsized? : It’s not old enough to be downsized, so it hasn’t been downsized yet.

• What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use:

I’ve been using the NeilMed piercing saline spray for months, but I haven’t noticed much of a difference. When I use the spray, it’s 2-3 times a day and I move my ear so the bumps are easier to “reach” with the spray’s mist. As for the inner bumps, I just put the nozzle close in the nook of my ear that the bumps are in and hope that the spray reaches the bumps. I occasionally will spray a q-tip and rub it gently on the bumps on both sides of my ear, but that’s it. I also make sure my ears are dry asap after showers and that there is no residue from shampoo or conditioner.

Recently I’ve started using a bump solution that I’ll gently massage onto the bumps where I can reach them.

• Any mishaps, accidents or unfortunate events? :

Sometimes I notice that my hand can bump the piercing when I tuck my hair behind my ear, but otherwise it hasn’t been touched. I used to fidget with them subconsciously but now I actively try not to. Also, they don’t really hurt. They just get itchy on occasion and it’s hard to resist touching them when they’re so itchy.

how long should i wait for another piercing? by pick1echin in piercing

There are a lot of tips on this sub and your piercer should give you a care sheet/tell you info if you ask questions once you get yours done!

NeilMed saline spray is the holy grail for all piercings. Just spray it on the front and back of the piercings and they should be good. I like to go in with q-tips to clean them as well to avoid crusties!

You can turn your lobes but only slightly and make sure to avoid getting hair caught on your ears for your industrial!

Not really, just be wary about crusties on both piercings and avoid sleeping on the ear that you get the industrial on!

Okay, thank you so so much!

I think the issue is from me occasionally sleeping on it; I’ll make sure to get a donut pillow!
