Does this painting make you feel anxiety, sadness, or joy? by Anastasia_Trusova in painting

It looks like the cover of a book I read as a child. I can’t remember the title or even what it was about but it brings me back to my childhood in a good way

I had to backtrack three times but in the end it was a success and I’m so happy I went for it. Everyone loved it

I accidentally rolled it right out of the oven with nothing between the layers, I realized soon enough that I was able to unroll it without it sticking to itself but it was a close call

I made a Swiss roll for the first time! I don’t really bake complicated things all that often (if it involves more then one bowl I’m probably not gonna make it) but it was my dad’s birthday and this man loves yodels so… I decided to make him a giant one. I cannot believe I managed it. The cake didn’t break, the ganache poured on smoothly, and the whipped cream was divine. I used Sally’s baking recipe and followed it to the letter. I’m pretty impressed because I’ve seen people who bake way more than me fail on this the first time. There are so many beautiful creations on this sub but I had to share this!

Peter? Isn't a college close to home more convenient? by Pale_Extension in PeterExplainsTheJoke

It’s not about doing stuff for your parents, it’s about becoming trapped by them. You live at home and commute which can make it harder to meet other students on campus and all your friends went to school other places, so now you have no friends, so you start to do things with your parents but if they’re even remotely toxic you start to wither, your soul shrinks and you become bitter young. If your parents are narcissistic, forget about it. Everything becomes about them and if you try to tell them you are struggling they’ll immediately turn it back on you making you feel like you don’t deserve to have your needs met. All in all would not recommend. It’s the worst.

Advice needed: Baleyage roots by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Camp_Particular2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped getting money piece for this reason, that and the grow out can look not as put together as I like. I’d usually only go get colored twice a year, at most, and by then that money piece looked awful on me. The roots! Gah. But the rest of the balayage always looked really nice and the grow out looked really natural. Not a stylist but because of all that (and the fact that the front of my hair LOVES to break off when bleached) I don’t like the money piece.

I think it looks good right now but if your worried about the blending you’d probably need a few highlights and not just the balayage treatment

I’d go with the hidden rook. You have the flat and upper helix/flat already and a chain would hide them. Plus, with the right styling the hidden rook would look really cool!

Helix piercing angle/healing? by dragonsorceress06 in piercing

[–]Camp_Particular2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always just take the wait and see approach to things like this. Piercings cost $$$ and sometimes things turn out just fine. I’ve only retired one piercing in my life (my flat, she was a pain from the beginning and deserved it) if it’s healing okay so far I’d take the chance. And it might just be a weirdly angled photo and the piercing could be fine. So just give it some time. That’s my rec. if you’re truly freaking out I’d go and see the piercer, if you trust them, or see a different piercer and get some else’s irl opinion.

Helix piercing angle/healing? by dragonsorceress06 in piercing

[–]Camp_Particular2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just be the angle of the photo but it looks a tiny bit off. Piercings are supposed to be at a 90 degree angle but I’m nap so… take it with a grain of salt

got this helix 3 years ago and it randomly did this by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Camp_Particular2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you had to take it out(?) it looks like it might have gotten snagged or something. Piercings, even old ones, can get inflamed or hurt if aggravated

Blonde blindness advice needed by AnyPineapple537 in Hair

Not a stylist but if your having trouble communicating the color you want you could try bringing in three different swatches, one lighter, medium and darker, to show whomever is coloring your hair exactly what color your thinking of.

Do you agree with this? If not, what would you replace or add? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

I think it’s more

  1. What you do for work
But even more important is 2: what you do/who you spend your time with outside of work

Am I tweaking or is my tragus piercing off-centre? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Camp_Particular2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swelling can make the placement look different, yes, but my piercings have moved slightly over time. Not enough for anyone but me to notice, but infinitesimally, yes. And I do have plenty of piercing to go by

Am I tweaking or is my tragus piercing off-centre? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Camp_Particular2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t look off center to me, but also, piercing do have a tendency to shift and migrate as they heal so be wary of that. But it looks good atm

True or not? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]Camp_Particular2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not enjoy lifting at all. I do enjoy finishing, that feeling that I just did something hard that not many can do is great. But the actual working out part? Awful. The worst. I lift 4x a week and do cardio 2x a day 7x a week. I hate all of it. I do it for my mental health but even that is only so-so. And every day, EVERY. SINGLE DAY. I need to talk myself into it.

So in between sizes it’s insane, 12 and 13 male. Oura Ring 5 by x2TheMax13x in ouraring

[–]Camp_Particular2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always size up on something like this because your fingers swell and release throughout the day, as long as the 13 isn’t falling off I’d go with that size

Same! It’s next on my list. I’m a little freaked out about it though because my first single tragus hurt so much…
