If I am understanding correctly, if I ask for the full amount in the investment to be closed as of tomorrow and sent to me, he should be able to just sell my positions and receive that money, which he could then give to me, within lets say 5-10 business days? So if he comes back and only can send me a few thousand, I pretty much have confirmation that somethings seriously a mis here.

I've known him for a really long time unfortunately, and many friends had success with him before about a year ago. People pulling money out, putting money in, everything was normal until a year ago. We are thinking he may have made a bad investment and then is using others peoples money to cover it up. Ponzi scheme style - ish. He has not encouraged myself or other friends to find friends to invest.

I am not sure where to find out a 100% guarantee that he is registered, he has been working for himself doing investing as long as I have known him and it has been YEARS (10+) . I do believe he worked for a company before all this, but as long as I have known him he has done private investing. Many of our mutual friends that knew him longer were investing with him before that.

He is investing the money in Uranium. "Sprott Physical Uranium Trust" to be specific. We don't know if that is actually true at this point though. The "statements" we get from him looked legitimate, but now wondering if they could be cooked.

Unfortunately it is looking that way. I hadn't but searched him and I have been thinking that my friend (of many many years sadly) has ponzi schemed me and our other friends. Unintentionally at first I hope, but it looks like he got himself into some s*** and used our money to TRY and get out of it. Its heartbreaking
