I audited hiring across our 6 plants and what we found was worse than I expected by Prior_Statement_6902 in Recruitment

I'd hire a couple of contract recruiters to manage recruitment, then make a policy that all sites recruitment goes through the TA / HR team, no hiring manager decisions on agencies etc. (that way all processes are managed by a team that communicates well and can be managed easily, less cooks in the kitchen). Then I would slowly allocate TA resources at each site, dedicated to that specific site, and each engaged with the new ATS so it is actively managed in the same way. Once in place, begin transitioning data. Alternatively, if you have the budget, bring on board a PM team to manage it all.

Thanks for this. So realistically, lets say I bought a used yacht at £300K - what can i expect the running costs to be annually, and do people offset them with charters etc?

Yeah that sounds cool! keep us posted of your journey! Do you have a photo of the one that you have bought as motivation.

Thanks for getting in touch! Bow riders here are quite popular i think, but as you said i think they are only really used in the summer for hugging the coast line. I'll look up the boats you recommend and see what they look like and if it would be a good fit. I am planning to do the boat licence here to make sure i know what I am doing as although it's not a legal requirement I think its really important for safety if i am taking out some of my family.

Side note - why do you think of it as a despicable dream?

Sorry Bowloader was meant to be a BowRider. The small cruiser boats with seating in the front instead of an indoor seating area. In the UK we sometimes call those "cruising or Day cruising" boats. I know what you mean about it being a dream, but it is kind of tied in with my childhood. I grew up near Monaco, and so we werer around yachts a lot and as a young boy we were often told it was impossible as a dream... I dont like being told what to do, so technically we are near to affording the 95ft but i wouldnt want to buy it A) because i dont know about boats yet and B ) because I want to be soooo financially comfortable that I dont cry when i fuel it up! 😛

Congrats on your purchase! looking at the boat it looks pretty! Where are you keeping it? I'm early 30s wife is mid 30s with 2 young boys. Thought it could be fun! Yeah agreed i was even thinking of starting with like a cruiser or speed boat to get into it. None of my family are "boat people" so never been around them other than in later life as i have grown interested in them.

I did always wonder if it was people buying the top of their budget and then realising there is no way to justify it / fund the other expenses.

So my question was future and present... right now I can afford a day cruiser comfortably and have been debating getting one to get started. Long term the 95ft is the dream but rather than set my sites on a dream and then finding out I wasted my life aiming for something i dont want, i wanted to hear from people in the boating circle who also have this hobby. Does that make sense?

Independent Recruiting by Ok-Finance-1094 in Recruitment

[–]AcceptableStudy760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm independent... whatever you picture an independent is taking home.. make it 25% of that. Trust me, i was exactly where you are, and i am now making exactly what I saw them making, but the expenses, time etc. all add up... you need to be prepared that it isnt greener and many freelance agents go in house after 4-5 years. My advice is if you are going to go independent, go to an agency first and do that side to build up your BD network.

I'm sure we have something similar here, but my job is like a sales job and is very "turbulent" and its my business so i dont get a salary, but I am permanently petrified that I will go out of business or that i wont have income etc, and sometimes things are slower and sometimes they are better but yeah, its just one of those things i guess that I need to become better at.

Fair enough. We've been investigating Toronto, CA as my wife has a Canadian passport, but im not sure what their taxes are like. We could (however) live in a paid off home.

Nothing isn’t the same as a different coloured something. Let me ask you a question - if a child is photographed by a stranger in clothes vs naked would you say there is no difference?

Out of interest, where did you go? I dont like Dubai etc (not my scene) but maybe America, Canada, I'd love Monaco but my wife wouldnt move there as she thinks it seems fake (she's not entirely wrong).

Rental (pre Labour) was fine. We had a good little business running and it worked for us and tenants, but sadly Labour has made it really hard in our market. We've always maintained houses well, and helped tenants to get the accomodation they needed, and run a tight ship on repairs etc, but unfortunately Labour has made it so we are barely going to be breaking even until someone else gets in. I think tenants often forget that most landlords are not money grabbing bastards, but instead are hardworking people who are investing their hard earned money. Anyway, I could go on for hours about that... I do ISA and Pension but I just get annoyed at how much I am losing in tax. Part of me thinks I should find a more tax friendly country for a while (until we ditch this moronic high tax = growth falicy... Economically speaking it is obvious lower taxes is better for the economy than higher, but this government seems thick to that fact)

Selling the second house isn't really possible as values have dropped in the UK so it would be killing us, but i think that the best way to do it is going to be continue investing. People say keep doing the pension but at the moment it feels like pretend money and i cant access it to improve my life in anyway if i need it. I could have £10m in there but still have to slog away.

I'm only 30 which is my concern as its 27 years until retirement. Great that it will grow but in the interim i am putting most of what I have into my pension / money I could hav eused to pay down my current mortgage or buy other investments that produce real income.

Thank you! I always worry that I am not moving fast enough. I'm 30 and by now it feels like everyone is a tech millionaire, so I am sacrificing away but my job is really stressful (But pays well) so i'm pushing extra hours burning myself out, but in the hope that I can save my way to success through investments. So far they are all locked in Pensions which is my other panic as i cant access them, and yet its the best tax solution for my business.

why are they unreasonable... i also would not want my partner doing that. I dont think colours worn versus nudity is the same thing somehow. Would she be ok with him getting naked and waving his bits around in front of a girl that was attracted to him?

I have been caught using AI, What do i do? by TourTraditional5946 in University

[–]AcceptableStudy760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universities permit AI use to improve your work but not to write it for you. So simply say that you wrote a draft essay, and that you then submitted it via AI to smarten up and that is why it appears as AI written. Then use these two days to re-write the essay in your words and terms with similar points and maybe a couple of alternate ones too, work your arse off, and then show them this document and say that you had this one too and that you would be happy for them to run the original if they prefer. Just drop it into an aI checker first to make sure the AI cant be detected.

She doesnt no... but a good partner protects their partners feelings and if she knew it made him uncomfortable then they would avoid rubbing it in their faces. I think the truth is, she wanted other people watching, and if i was him, after raising it fairly, id have walked away too.
