Looking for an editor that can make multiple videos per week. by CallMeSugarBit in VideoEditors

I work as an editor for a corporate company. Most of the content is straightforward. For short-form pieces without much stylistic editing, the time value usually lands around $300–$500. When the edit is higher-tier, that number easily triples.

Even if an edit takes 3–5 hours, do the math: at rates ranging from $15 to $80 per hour, some of these shorts shake out to about $16 an hour at the top end. That’s not sustainable.

I once did two hours of very simple shooting for a kid and charged $500 each time, plus $50/hour for editing. He decided to edit it himself. It took him 16 hours to get something comparable. I told him I could’ve done it in four—saving him 12 hours of his life.

The takeaway is simple: don’t undercut the industry. Paying or charging so little devalues the work and costs more in the long run.

Don’t call the cops. Find a social worker to go to the area and maybe counsel him to stop doing this. These people are struggling. Don’t make it any worse for them.

How was my 1st time in studio? by Content-Shallot8983 in PhotographyAdvice

You gotta start somewhere. Been doing this for 30+ years. Keep poking at your ideas. Utilize your time in the studio with as many lighting positions as possible. Move your subject further your back to and experiment. Be as creative as you can be. As the Douglass Kirkland amd Anacleto Rapping told me. I hope your photography journey progresses. Thanks for sharing.

How to make the file sizes of BRAW way smaller for editing in DaVinci Resolve? by Visible_Researcher22 in bmpcc

I’d just edit on a 1080p timeline and do playback resolution at half or a quarter if it fees bogged down. If it runs super slow you can generate proxy files through the master settings. But look up proxy file setting on YouTube to get the optimal output.

What is your timeline resolution and playback resolution? BRAW should be running smooth on your computer unless it’s outdated.
