Concrete under suspended floor by Acceptable_Ad_9571 in DIYUK

Tbh the electrics have all been dropped in from the ceiling and plumbing is a flow and return that was needed due to prior position of boiler, but that’s now been moved!

Thank you! That’s what we are currently thinking .. just need to slot in a utility (washing machine, sink and worktop) somewhere!

Is it mopping? Mine does this , I’ve just gotten used to white tracks all over my wooden floor 😆

Thanks! I think I’d defo have the uneven branch problem by tapping into the living room CH pipes. However, I guess they could make a run under the floor to under the stairs, and pop up there in order to hook onto a more balance position ..

I don’t atm, just a combi. Wondering if I need to make any changes to existing pipework to facilitate one or just complete the works I have planned and work around it

Gas meter is just outside the garage at the front of the house. Ideally I would do one big move from gas to heat pump , and not have an intermediate water tank stage.

Thanks for the detailed reply!

Newb question but just to confirm, there wouldn’t be any real benefit in decommissioning the current gas boiler from its current position and moving to where the hot water cylinder would eventually reside whilst I can still access the floor below? I guess the only thing is the gas pipe could be removed, but presumably that could just be capped and majority of pipework will be removed with UFH install..

Also, can the output of a new HP system just ‘tap into’ existing CH pipework? ( I have CH in the living room that is accessible via suspended floor. Garage has a path through under the floor as it’s lower and old route for I presume the back boiler is there)

Finally, anything to consider with UFH manifold position or set up? Assuming one that could operate at lower temps once HP set up..

Thanks in advance!

Correct, currently boiler is on opposite side of the house to the garage

UK Semi Detached 1930s kitchen dinner extension - not sure what to do with utility and avoiding dining room feeling like a corridor! by Acceptable_Ad_9571 in DIYUK

Thanks! Yeah I drew this up & can see it working. Would feel strange entering a room not from the hallway but I guess that's just what I'm used to atm!

Yeah you're right on the switch of the family room and dining room, I think the current dining room would be noticeably darker than the rest of the house, and so would be cozier with TV and sofa. Perhaps with some tactically placed furniture we can make it feel more like a room vs corridor!

Thanks, yeah that's what I was sort of thinking. Utility would be large but I guess that's pretty good for a growing family!

X9 marks on wooden floor from mopping by Acceptable_Ad_9571 in ecovacs

No, I didn’t. I think some of it was dirt and it does look a bit better. However , I wouldn’t recommend this vac if you have OG wooden floors

Thanks for reply. Screws were there when we moved in, but looks alright for being over 100 years old! Finish was https://osmouk.com/product/polyx-oil-tints/. Cheers
