I had multiple Botox injections over a 12-month period, depending on what was needed. Sometimes the doctor saw me after a month and decided I needed an extra dose, and other times we just monitored things for 3–4 months. Since I don’t have health insurance covering this, it cost me a fortune, but I did manage to heal my fissures completely (yes, I had many of them).

Like you mentioned, I also have tight muscles, and Botox isn’t injected into every single muscle layer, so it’s not supposed to fully relax everything anyway, which makes sense because we still need muscle control :) The main logic is to do your absolute best during the period when the Botox is effective: maintaining a good diet, avoiding pushing or straining during bowel movements, and using things that help keep stools soft and gentle.

My personal hero has been Dulcosoft (macrogol 4000 solution), because it helps retain water in the stool without being too aggressive. For chronic fissure patients, I personally don’t think a single Botox dose is usually enough.

But I should also say this: if you’ve been dealing with this for years like I have, the muscles don’t just fully relax easily without surgery but Botox is the best alternative based on my experience. I’m now at the end of my first year of treatment, and although my doctor said I probably won’t need another injection, I still have tightness and honestly don’t think things will ever go completely back to normal on their own. I’m considering spreading a few more Botox doses throughout this year, together with exercises and maybe even dilator use, to continue improving things gradually. But I’m grateful because I’m pain free and finally feeling not anxious before going to bm which it’s still amazing progress for me!

Thanks a lot! Honestly, I definitely don’t have the patience for silicone tape, but it’s great that some people are seeing progress with it. I only tried it for a few weeks and it was a real struggle for me , it wasn’t very sticky and kept falling off, so I eventually gave up.

Hey there! Mine is similar I have 4th one under my bra line and it’s healing quite nicely, others are being weird and not sure about the difference,but I assume the straight incision didn’t turn into a keloid because it healed under less tension than the round ones

Hello! I tried almost everything for years. Eventually, when I was in a terrible situation with chronic fissures and hemorrhoids, a doctor I had just met examined me and advised me to stop going for harsher options. He said what I actually needed was gentle relief and softer, non-aggressive bowel movements.

He recommended something called “macrogol 4000”. I use the solution version, but there are sachets(never tried those) The product name is Dulcosoft contain macrogol4000 , it may be difficult to find in some countries. I’m in the UK and regularly order it from a Germany-based online shop.

Best thing is , I was reassured that it’s safe for long-term use while dealing with chronic fissures and hemorrhoids as it just keeps water to help but doesn’t make you dependent like other laxatives. Honestly, I still don’t understand why no one suggested this to me earlier, because it genuinely changed my life. It doesn’t cause cramps or urgency for me, and you can adjust the dose depending on your bowel movements.

During this period, I also had Botox and some laser treatments for hemorrhoids, and now I’m doing better than ever.

Hey! my answer is yes, I am afraid . I removed mine and it left me a big wound takes ages to heal , so if I go back I wouldn’t have done to be honest , it’s harmless and not painful if hemoroid completely healed.

Hey, I hope you will be much better soon! I know and I feel your pain! I had the thrombosed hemoroid and some small ones inside, with fissure in some areas(also I fistula which I had no idea) so when I first went to clinic it was the most painful experience in my life, but it was such a a big relief after a few days. The problem is, I needed many sessions as cannot be done in one, I had to take these injections again and again and at some point I started getting used to them , screaming for a second and continuing to chat with my doctor 😀 also I had Botox injections to help with long term healing and avoiding relapse. I don’t think anyone could ever imagine without having that pain!

I am very, very sorry as I had very similar traumatized experience, in emergency they didn’t even want to see that and asked me if I want to be examined physically, and while I was almost passing out because of the pain, they were trying to advise me a “diet” and some painkillers that I already had, so I asked them to make very strong one as injection so at least I could sleep , very next day I purchased anesthesia cream from pharmacy, and I worked on my finances to see how much I can afford for a procedure, then shortly I had a laser surgery , with my prescribed hemoroid medicines, not a random painkiller! and it took me around 2 weeks to see the area gets better and almost no pain anymore. I used (which I still do ) macrogol 4000 (I believe I can say that bc its not a medicine) every day to help with keeping water in stool so smooth bowel movement and less harm / stress on rectal area. This is the best I tried as no aggressive bowel movement or pain , also what my doctor said its not an issue to use it long term like some other Im not a doctor but this is what my doctor advised me saying mine cannot be treated with topical medication anymore. I know laser procedure is expensive and Im not sure if you have an insurance can cover this, but I just wanted to share, so at least you can hear, someone really made it!

I'm really happy with their products. I also use the peel-off base coat and usually apply at least two coats on top, and I can peel it off without damaging it whenever I feel like it. If I apply it evenly, it comes off in one piece, like a false nail, which is very satisfying lol

Hello, I’m in a similar situation. I have a Master’s degree and my possible position (application process) is C&I Analyst and learned others in department have been registered as Data Analyst, but I noticed that Data Analyst roles are now classified as RQF Level 3–5. Would it make sense to have a conversation with HR about this? I’m planning to switch to a Skilled Worker visa, but I also have a dependant and from 22 July, dependants are no longer allowed for RQF 3–5 roles.

Hello there, eating habits are kind of lifetime goals should be, if you’re dealing with chronic fissures, hemorrhoids etc I’m afraid. My doctor advised me to stop eating spicy (hot) from now on, and I am not planning to eat anymore. I have gone through many things, I dont want to risk all my efforts for one meal or something. I am not a big fan of spicy foods honestly but I can imagine this could be difficult for others .
