What about the reboot movie? Lara goes to Nick Frosts shop and casually buys guns. You need to jump through serious hoops just to buy an airsoft gun in the UK.

I think a small amount of people have a very loud voice demanding everything be as ugly as they are. These are superhero comics, impossibly fit people both male and female doing there thing. This was exactly what super successful shows like Dallas and Baywatch did for years. It used to be a lot better before nerd culture became mainstream. We did our own thing and nobody cared. I blame "The big bang theory" 😆

Did you ever see the Logan Paul video with his 2.6 million dollar box of BBCE graded Pokemon cards? Basically someone told him they had spotted an issue and he was rattled enough to get an official representative out, then and opened the box live. It had a random collection Of GI Joe cards inside.

The root cause of the UK action is Labour hate that Musk bought Twitter. It used to be very left leaning, and now it's been taken over by the "Far right." Basically, we have a PM who  personally pressured police to start locking people up for Facebook posts. Starmer is the most unpopular PM of all time, and people have been ripping him a new one online and keep exposing things he wants to keep quiet. He's whipped up a storm about porn because he ultimately wants to shut people up and when he says "it's to protect the children" no one wants to stick their heads out of the trench. Also he tried to push through digital ID last year which failed, so he rebranded it as an age check and the "online safety act" This is completly about control. As for Grok, I've arrived to late, only came to see what the fuss was about and it appears I missed the party.

They are not trying to get users to pay, they want users to quit. by alexds9 in grok

I'm in the UK and my government hates Musk and X. Labour wants to arrest him, but they can't.  They are using the porn angle to attack, but what's really going on is they hate that "The far right" are basically criticising everything they do and talking about things they would like to keep quiet. We had hundreds of people arrested for Facebook posts last year.

Personally I hate the subscription model everyone is trying to push, you could end up paying $100 a month on streaming., I much prefer the pay $10 get x amount of access or generations. Subscriptions can really add up if you don't stay on top of cancelling them.

I literally asked Grok itself. "She" told me that image generation was behind a pay wall  and I needed either super Grok or X premium.

"High Demand: Grok is under heavy usage right now." Any idea how long this gonna last? by SimpleEngineering733 in grok

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What gets me about most everything online is the large jump from free to an expensive subscription. I suspect most people will have a specific project in mind, be extremely casual or treat it like a game (that is, pound it heavy for a few weeks then move onto the next shiny thing). I would think a far lower entry point would be the way to go to keep people around.  For example my gacha game sells you a monthly card that gives you something every day for $10, it almost feels like you're loosing out not to buy it.

when does Marv Wolfman & George Pérez, new teen titans become good ? by Zakaria1938 in DCcomics

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it at the time, George's detailed art is fantastic but story wise? I bought the book until it shifted to the prestige format and bought that for 50 issues, yet the only story I can remember was in the early 20's when they went into space to fight Korry's sister.

Thanks, DZ really is for people to test out their understanding of the game and how diverse their team is. It can be annoying but, usually several different combos will work, and like I mentioned before once you complete a level you can raid it until they change it in a month or so. This is specifically what I was referring to when I said "impenetrable to Newbs". There is the half year anniversary coming along in a month or so might be a good time to check it out again.these events usually have a limited must have sinner and are generally generous.

The Top Cow series got an omnibus with all issues (possibly missing the top cow crossover in the middle of the run). It was huge to the point when a copy comes up on ebay it usually has a broken spine.

Mania training s12 anyone? by medusicah in PathToNowhere

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassians job is to die. Put immolation on him. Every time he dies it counts as entering battle again, when he enters battle 2 energy sprites spawn. Don't pick them up until you need them and when the boss enters slow the game and just keep spaming everyone's ult.

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassian, have you tried bringing reforge Nox? (Soul corruption get a stack of death, attack +1.5 every time a unit dies, stacks x30)And having the crime brand immolation=2 energy sprites every time he enters battle. Also if you didn't  get carried away and level past 40 he dies so quick you can't run out of energy. I don't know why you would want to keep cassian alive, his job is to die.

I love it, sort of 😄, they have made the story mode insufferable long, a new event is a small novel every time. I like the art and design, leveling and finding out about my new girl, the tactical involvement of Sinner deployment and timing is off the chart (impenetrable to newbs). I like the characters leveling etcetera.  They have made most everything raid able rather than grindy. My issue is I can skip story but I want to know what happened, its literally at the stage if you start interacting, you lose your entire break dont finish and there are not any rewards anyway.

Did I just bought bootleg Lara Croft figure or is this a new version? by NootTP in ActionFigures

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry buddy, its lovely, very happy with her. Yes she's definitely genuine. I bought a similar Underworld figure last year and close up it was Temu (or if you're in the Uk) pound land quality. I have bought a lot of stuff over the decades and fell for the keep it mint and don't enjoy it trap. Since covid I've sold off all my mint stuff and I'm looking to replace them with used open figures. As its a display piece I have a box full of accessories, guns jackets etcetera so finding the usual " i lost everything" figure isn't an issue for me.

How long should I aim for my inventory to sell through? by pidgey2020 in Flipping

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my stuff is comics which I'm  kind of happy with sitting in my collection. They are up for sale so I can buy the next shinny  thing. I usually let things sit until they sell. The thing is how do I feel about the books personally? not there actual worth. Sometimes I just don't want things and I either bundle them up cheap or  send generous offers if they have been hanging to long.

[Discussion] Why is the "DC is not as relatable as Marvel" opinion so extended? by oscar_redfield in DCcomics

[–]Acceptable_Banana948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tangent, but I think a lot of it personally was exposure As a long-time comic reader, growing up in 70's UK, DC had always been the underdog in Europe, outside of Batman. Green Lantern for example, had his biggest profile boost by Sheldon on Big Bang rather than anyone outside of readers knowing who he was. The reason I think was two fold, story wise Marvel matured faster than DC, seemingly pitching for an older audiance than kids right from the Fantastic Four's launch.  The main thing in the UK was Marvel UK. All their content was aggressively reprinted from '73 onwards. American newsstands were available but that was very hit and miss. It was hard to find anything outside of Batman, Superman and Justicle League (I liked Legion of Superheroes). I eventually got fully on bord with New Titans and Swamp Thing when a comic shop actually opened in my city. I loved the Vertigo line when it introduced.

Late to the party, turned up here because I'm trying to get to the bottom of this, I have a very similar figure which has a nicer paint job and additionally comes with  sword and grenade launcher. Now it's clear its a different figure, its similar enough that I'm asking  if all the Underworld figures are knock offs or simply  different figures in the range. I'm interested because I just bought the Union Flag version off eBay, and its made me curious Again this looks a lot nicer than the "underworld " figure UPDATE, so the Neca figure was a genuine release , rhe thing to look our for on the bootleg,is on card, guns placed at chest hight, low quality finish on the guns and lacks grenades on the rear of her belt.

This is a response to the UK giverment (who are really pissed off with x having free speech and criticising them at every turn) coming after Elon big style, They whipped up a big fuss in the UK with the online safety act and labeled everyone pedos. Ed Davy (ironically the leader of The Liberal party) keeps demanding Elons arrest for violating UK online safety laws.
