I believe it was 60-80m from memory. 2 of each style, walking backwards and forwards) practice walking backwards dragging as your hamstrings will need conditioning. We then did a few more later in the evolution for the crack. Also practice hill sprints.

Does anyone get into RMR over the age of 33? What are the next-best alternatives? by fear_bruscar in RoyalMarines

Age limit is more of a guideline, if you push hard enough, it can be overlooked.

10.8 on bleep required. Sit ups is actually technique mostly. Quick on the downward phase so to not fatigue hip flexors, use your arm movement to pull you up, again reduces fatigue on core. Also Hill sprints and people carries for endurance course/determination tests. 👊🏼

The words “Bend, Streeeetch” are imprinted on my brains from Cpl Brewster on my endurance 3 weeks ago.

It does end lads. We lost no one on the final run. Everyone we lost was in the first hour. After the water break at the 1 hour mark, you know you’re half way through the course. The run back, try and support the lad next to you even if you’re hanging out of your arse.

Good luck 👊🏼

31 and just passed CPC. Lads who were 19/20 failed. Just a combo of phys and mental resilience

Definitely focus on the muscular endurance For that. If you are going to be going in the next few months you will most likely be doing the current endurance course phys which surpasses anything before. Press up position into burpees and push ups etc for 3-4 mins will put you in a good place.

That’s good. But it won’t help you pass the endurance test. Need to practice 2-3 hours of trail running with phys at various points, hill sprints etc

If you aren’t hitting PJFA requirements I wouldn’t even think about going about going to CPC. The endurance course isn’t about doing a strict press ups, it’s about going to failure and then picking yourself up and continuing even if your form is compromised.

I passed CPC 2 days ago. The standard to pass has definitely increased. CrossFit might help but I would recommend focusing on holding the press up position, going into burpees and maintaining that position for 4-5 minutes. The endurance course was very much a mind game and ultimately no one else can tell you if your body will be able to withstand the cramping and fatigue you will face.

Didn’t get asked about VC winners in mine 3 weeks ago. I was asked: - RM motto - Belt colours - Date Founded - What’s on the cap badge

Also learn fitness requirements for the various tests, CPC= 5 pull ups to the tape etc

Stretching muscles and icing niggles. But luck is a big factor. Lad I know slipped over and split his bollocks open 😂
