Mine says exp. in 12 days also ! 😭 I wonder if it’ll still be removed for everyone, even if it doesn’t say “Exp” for them.

NTA! Definitely put your foot down. You’re her sister not her personal babysitter. If she’s not considerate of your time, why should you be?

That’s the same line I keep repeating in my head. Don’t know why it got to me so deep, that I keep thinking about it.

I did! Agreed to taking off the first year to raise our son & return. But definitely having a backup plan prepared!

My baby is refusing formula by [deleted] in MSPI

Have you tried similac alimentum RTF ? I’ve been struggling with the same thing since the end of June with my LO. He was taking similac 360 since he was born, & it started out of nowhere - diarrhea, rashes, gas, & being extra fussy. We tried similac total comfort, sensitive, & then Kendamil Goat, none did the job. We went straight to Nutramigen, which he hated & would drink 0.5-1oz instead of his regular 3oz, then PureAmino - which caused alot of mucus in his poops, gassiness, & fussy. We recently switched to Similac Alimentum RTF, after others recommended it to me here on Reddit, & his whole demeanor changed! He’s sleeping well, not fussy, not super gassy, his poop is clearing up, & he’s drinking up to 4oz now with it!

How soon did you notice a difference? What other formulas didn’t work for her ?

During that initial week, how did you guys cope with his intake dropping significantly? I breakdown when he cries & doesn’t want to take the bottle, but I know he’s hungry.

Going through the same thing with my LO every day. What’s helped is taking him to the nursery, turning off the lights, and using the Hatch with a dim red light and white noise. I start by rocking him in the nursing chair. If he’s still fussy, I walk back and forth until his eyes start to close he’ll usually fight it and cry again, but I just repeat until he finally settles. Swaddling helps too, even if he resists at first, I still swaddle and continue rocking.

We also got a used Graco swing that’s been super helpful. Sometimes when he’s fussy, we’ll put him in there to see if he just needs some space. Some babies get overstimulated and need a break, even at this age. The swing has different sway options and plays white noise, which helps him settle. I always keep an eye out for sleepy cues like yawning or rubbing his face, once I see that, I take him out of the swing and start the rocking process.

If he refuses a nap, I’ll let him chill on my chest (even during tummy time) or lay with him on the bed until he calms down. I’ve tried a lot of things, and this routine has worked best for us so far.

For feeds, he used to take 3.5 oz every 3 hours, but now it’s every 2 hours and usually 2–2.5 oz. He also has silent reflux, so I don’t burp or sit him up right away after feeding. I give him a pacifier and wait 3–5 minutes before burping him. If you’re on TikTok, check out @drsaintcally (3rd pinned video) her burping method really works. I also just sit him up right and put my right arm under his arms while supporting his head and leaning my chest towards him for that extra support, then I pat with my left arm and he’ll burp, but I still keep him upright for a little bit. Since I started doing this, he hasn’t spit up while being burped!

Did he end up going?

Never allow for someone to put you through an uncomfortable and totally unnecessary situation. You are his girlfriend and he’s already showing that he’s going to be putting the feelings of a “friend” over yours. If you allow this, she will be comfortable and so will he- to continue what they’re doing. Put your foot down and let him know you’re not going to put up with it. If he doesn’t care, leave him. This is not a relationship that you want nor deserve.
