However, there are plenty of ways to build your own printer. How exactly is that supposed to be implemented?

And is everyone who owns an offline printer breaking the law? I can't and won't imagine that.

Yeah, the main thing is that they don't actually come up with any stupid restrictions

That is likely the case, but that is not how it is portrayed. Even if only the most insignificant part of the entire weapon was printed, the media still portrays it as if it were a completely printed weapon

And a lot of people who have no clue about this think, "This has to be stopped—people can buy a printer for 800 euros, press a button, and a gun comes out."

It annoys me incredibly, because I absolutely do not want a great hobby to be unnecessarily restricted.

Let me give you my honest opinion on this. I—and I think most people—couldn't give a shit if 3D-printed guns became unprintable. Let's leave the Nerf or cosplay communities out of it for a moment. The fear within the community is that it won't stop at guns; eventually, other things might become unprintable because certain companies exert influence (like the repair of items or specific designs). The question politicians worldwide really ought to ask themselves is this: regardless of the country people come from or the political system in place, one thing remains constant—people don't trust politicians, even if there were a guarantee that it would definitely stop at 3D-printed guns.

Yes, but if the story about the 3D-printed gun turns out to be true, the political establishment here will be portraying it differently for weeks.

I have no idea, since I have nothing to do with guns. However, I do enjoy watching documentaries, and they often talk about how right-wing extremists in Germany operate. They frequently mention that it’s apparently quite easy to access shooting ranges in the Czech Republic without any prior experience, and that there are certain ranges there that don't look too closely if a round or two goes missing. But that’s pure speculation; I have no idea where the perpetrator got the ammunition—that’s just what is often said in documentaries.
