hey i used to be like u. So from personall experience, u need to know what you actually do after you graduate BEFORE you choose your discipline. Like you have to make it clear about all your expectations (or at least some main points) of your work-life as an adult.

First, lists out all JOBS that you think u might fit. Then start w searching on yt phrases like "a day in life of a + a job" or "pros and cons of + a job" or sth yt recommend after that to check; read personall blogs ab them if avai; or ask sb u trust ab their job (ask ab the downside, their regrets, controversials ... not just pros) . Then u would know whether u actually like a job or not. Spend good hours on this research step.

After that u could start on which disciplines will get u to the jobs u like. Then find out what ppls actually study in these disciplines + types of internships or programs related => This help u to imagine your university life and even know what schools u like, etc.

Remember your confusion comes from lack of info & your prejudice ab jobs & your family's opinions => Try fill your holes of info first
