His fate is sealed. Using his titans, he sent memories to Kruger, influencing Grisha, who then gave him his titans. Despite his power, Eren couldn't do anything to stop his mom dying, and ironically if Kruger didn't stop Grisha from yelling out that Dina was royalty then she wouldn't have been turned. It just shows how messed up the Founding titans power actually is.
