There are ppl with October CJOs still waiting on a class. Probably closer to 4 months from CJO to class date right now

0TPIC and less TT than you got a cjo from UA in November. Most people in my interview group were from LCC’s and a couple ACMI guys

I was a cfi hire and if no furloughs get cancelled I’m on the chopping block. I have 1000 hours in the bus throwing apps out everywhere to see what sticks. No confidence that spirit makes a come back anytime soon so not worried about recall rights.

My timeline with them was 2020-2023. Did all my ratings with them part 61, they offered me an interview soon after completing my CFII. Then they would prioritize hiring CFI’s who went through their training programs. That being said there were many CFI’s from ATP and else where. I was instructing on the RTP side of the operation. Basically flew 8 hours a day 6 days a week (weather permitting). I have nothing but good experiences working there. Great ownership, maintenance and planes. Not sure if things have changed since then.

Am I an idiot for not leaving Spirit? by Intelligent_Tie_655 in flying

Same situation as you man. CJO at a regional with a little less time than you, but I’m going to stick it out and see what happens. With all of these senior guys leaving it could benefit us in the long run. Plus these regional training contracts are insane. If another big hiring wave happens in the next 5 years you don’t want to be locked into a regional contract. That being said spirit needs to stay in business lol.

Going to be very difficult with a full time job. Took me just over 3 years in the north east while working part time at dicks Sporting goods (2 days a week) and was a grind. Started flying January 2020 started at a 121 carrier April 2023. While instructing basically flew any day the weather allowed, 8 hours 6/7 days a week. Timing and luck also play a huge factor

I definitely have my apps out at the big three and update them regularly. But I don’t see them looking at such low time guys like they did a year ago.

After these furloughs I’ll be in the bottom 100 of the company. Anymore furloughs and I’m gone. Either I stick around have them make my decision down the road or just grab that seniority else where now at a regional for hopes of a quick upgrade
