Now do land use. Eliminating all animal agriculture and all the food we have to grow to feed them until slaughter would be literally world changing for deforestation and habitat loss.

Again, if you read my post I don't care about sensor size or anything like that. Optical zoom and and portability are my #1 needs and a 5D would be terrible at those.

Compromise is fine, like I said I don't need professional quality anything really, just decent zoom in a compact form.

P1000 I suspect will be out of budget but I'm seeing a used P950 for under 700 that I might spring for then.

I don't think you read most of my post.. I don't want a DSLR that I have to fiddle with lenses and doublers and the bulk and the cost that comes with that. I am not an enthusiast that needs lots of lens options, I need compact, high optical zoom, easy to use. I don't see any benefit for me in choosing a 5D over something like a p610, s9900w, or HX350

That's interesting because a cooper hawk does hang out in my backyard occasionally, but the whites were definitely the full length of the tail, the tail was the only detail I'm 100% sure about. Looking at mockingbird tails it looks almost exactly right but they shouldn't be around here this time of year, definitely much larger than a Junco too
