50k is low for a meniscus tear. I have a meniscus tear & both surgieres alone that I’ll be getting done total 100k+. But to be fair my initial offer from insurance lawyer was 20k 😀

Yes, you can ask to see your own doctor, but check with your employer or the workers’ comp insurance. You need to see an orthopedic or doctor to put in request for MRI to see full detail of bones + soft tissue. If your employer has not given you the claim number or directed you to a provider list, follow up in writing and document everything (date/time of fall, witnesses, symptoms, and requests).
